T-51Fred Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I have seen a couple of nice looking strat style washburns that one seller wrote was make by hamer. Is that true?
kizanski Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Maybe they block this site in Russia because of the Boobie Thread? You're welcome.

And as a thank you, the G&L R/T collection in genuine MoPar colors Panther Pink, Plum Crazy, Sublime Green, and Go Mango: At least the Sublime Green one doesn't have a cheap-ass swimming pool rout.

Yeah, but does it have a Hemi?

Yeah, but does it have a Hemi? Well, I knew you already had one, so I thought I could distract you with the authentic automotive colors. A 440 wedge head would be fun, too. Not as much top end as the Hemi, but a bit more grunt off the line. Edited to add: And here for your pleasure is a 1960's Hemi painted in what appears to be Go Mango and Plum Crazy:
ARM OF HAMER Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Well we know that the Chinese are making Gibsons.
Jeff R Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Nekkid pic of my '96 G&L Legacy. The pool routing plus grinding marks in the control cavity, likely due to control pots rubbing the side of the cavity during assembly and the line worker breaking out a Dremel. Ah, meh to it -- still the best strat I've played in my life, warts (in some's opinions) and all. I kind of like that cavity under the pickguard, especially when I did a S-S-S to H-S-S conversion to the guitar recently.
veatch Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 No matter how many times that guy says it on the Internet, it still isn't true. Ssssshhhhhh... I've been saying Hameritus adds tone for a few years now. I think that one is gaining traction.

I kind of like that cavity under the pickguard, especially when I did a S-S-S to H-S-S conversion to the guitar recently. I have a black/silver swirl maple board Legacy from that same year. Hooked into my minimalist Top Hat amp, the sound just leaps out of it. All the vintage glassy Strat sounds you could ever want, in a finely produced form factor that makes you forget all about scale length, neck profile, neck joint, and routing pattern. The pool route is an aftermarket modketeer's delight. With a collection of pickguards you could do HSS, HSH, HH, H, and maybe even SSSSS, or at least SSSS.

JohnnyB Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 That f**kin' guitar again??When are you going to get a real Strat? As soon as you get a real Gibson instead of those Hamer and Shishkov knockoffs.
crunchee Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Not to get away from the Kiz-JohnnyB love fest, but if you read the comments on the Sherman guitars article, he seems to have a bad rep...The gits he had pictured did nothing for me. Nothing. +1. I saw those comments, too. Hmm... I'm kinda surprised that nobody's mentioned the 'Smuggler's Tele' yet...or the (ahem) concept: http://guitarz.blogspot.com/2012/06/rare-1967-fender-smugglers-telecaster.html
cmatthes Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 This one's still tough to beat...not QUITE a bathtub route. These are pretty great too... All of the above > Washburns
T-51Fred Posted May 31, 2015 Author Posted May 31, 2015 HOLY SHITEMOOLIES, that Sparkle red Daytona is making me tingle all over. Is there more than one of those in the world, cause DANG!
