deadringer Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 For the low price of $4599! http://willcuttguitars.com/hamer-1/hamer-korina-standard-vintage-natural-used-065
crunchee Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 $4599? Glad to see that SOMEBODY thinks the economy is doing good. Of course, the first thing I see on the Willcutt page is an advert for a monthly payment/credit plan. Handy, since there's only 40 days until Christmas! It's never too early to go significantly into debt for the Holidays, I guess.
django49 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 At that price, or anywhere near it, I would quickly become less attached to mine.
Disturber Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 It needs a pick guard to look right. Probably just totally awesome sounding though. Price ain't that high considered it has a one piece body and Braz board. Try to find another.
gtone Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 1 pc white Korina-bodied guitars this big have to be relatively rare when you get looking around. It's not like Gibson or Hamer made a whole lot of 'em when you think about it as most runs were pretty low in number.
mirrorimij Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 One piece korina standards are very rare. In the original run of 100 there were only 3 or 4.
sirDaniel Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 at that pricepoint, there are some instruments worth considering highly from all of the top manufacturers. Hamer loses it's intimate advantage.at that price, also, I want it in my hand before I lay the hooch.
foodermon Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 yeh saw that late yesterday. I recall the one or two 1 piece braz standards like this from Willcutt's years back when they sold new.. and if I remember the price was fairly hefty. even if it were super white limba clean (i.e. not much of the grayish grains, which it ain't), and lite as a feather (which it ain't), then maybe 4.5k+ is fair. that still sounds tall. dunno. only takes one special buyer.
sled Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 They are easy to negotiate with if someone is serious about buying the guitar.
hamer_sunburst Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 surely a very cool guitar but not worth more than 2k in my book....
hamer_sunburst Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 and FWIW I bought a used Gibson Historic from Willcutts awhile back, which was poorly described and misleading.... I wouldn't buy from them again.
Disturber Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 surely a very cool guitar but not worth more than 2k in my book....You'd hardly get a used 2 piece Korina Standard for 2K anymore. I've seen nice ones go for 2.5K-2.7K. They are worth it, no question.

Those black streaks wouldn't put me off - better than knots! As far as weight goes, white Korina can be all over the map. I have two Explorer/Standard bodies in white Korina - one's about 5.6 lbs and the other is about 8 lbs!!
