The Shark Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I purchased this one a few months ago and am blown away at the quality, playability, and tone. BUT I just can't get used to an HSS guitar. I don't use a bunch of presets on my amp, so I've found I'm stepping on a boost for the single coils and it's a pain in the ass. So, she must go! Guitar was $2,200 new (built by Grover not the staff) and is the only one of it's kind. Toasted maple neck with rosewood board and ash body. Recently set up with .010 to .046 and the original single coil covers are in the case (chrome ones are not factory). Pickups are Grover's Habenero series and they sound really good. Not high gain, just right. Price is $1,300 shipped to the lower 48. Anywhere else, we'll agree on a price for shipping. Thanks and please fire away with any questions. No trades please, unless you want to do something stupid!
The Shark Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 A second trip to the front page!
Dave Scepter Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Gorgeous guitar!.. could you please describe the neck profile shape/nut width? Thanks, Dave

That is insanely cool! Reminds me of Rokusaburo Michiba writing out his menu just before kicking the next competitor to the curb in the original "Iron Chef."

I am the greatest fan of the original Iron Chef show. Michiba was the legend. Chen, Sakai, Morimoto and the other lesser Iron Chef's were just following the master. I wish I could have tried his "clarifying broth" or "broth of vigor". His writing of the menu was classic.
LucSulla Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Man, I wish I could turn the two I have into this one. I love this guitar.
The Shark Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 It's really exceptional. A little room to move on it, for those seriously considering it. Thanks.
Studio Custom Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 If it's so great why not change out the pickups? I put a lil59 in the neck of all my Stevens'.

Wanted the best of both worlds. Hadn't owned an HSS guitar for decades. Thought I'd somehow make it work this time. Putting humbuckers in the place of the singles defeats any purpose for owning the guitar. I have sixty dual humbucker guitars.
The Shark Posted October 8, 2016 Author Posted October 8, 2016 My best price is $1,400 shipped. Thanks!
The Shark Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 One more trip to the top, then the Bay!

I had to go to the Googles as well. I just find it curious that instead of finding a fresh sheet of paper, Grover took the time to cross out these random Blink-182 lyrics (and why they were written down in the first place is anyone's guess) and then wrote down these important specs for his customer (or for his own reference). It's a window into the mind of a semi-famous person. This sort of shit intrigues me.
The Shark Posted November 3, 2016 Author Posted November 3, 2016 Out of paper? I don't know. I just know I played it in a jam with my bass player's other band tonight and it sounded killer. Didn't use the singles though. Still for sale.
The Shark Posted December 1, 2016 Author Posted December 1, 2016 Up the flag pole once more. Killer guitar for the dough.
