redline Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Tom Petty: File Under - Michael Jackson, Prince, Elvis...
sirDaniel Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 when you are paid THAT MUCH to entertain (sports included), the show must go on....
scottcald Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 I think there's a lot of factors here. Money the biggest one. From what I've read of Petty, I'd bet he felt an obligation to all the people working for them as well as the fans who bought tickets. Unfortunately, there are also doctors who won't tell people how it is directly. And, it could be management got the doctor and did the old, "Do whatever you need to so he can play" thing.
cmatthes Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Going to a Tom Petty tribute show here in town with a number of local rock luminaries performing. Looking forward to it, actually.
cmatthes Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Here in Bethesda, MD. A fair number of DC-area musicians that I know are playing.

MTM105 Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 Petty the greatest rock icon in our generation. I like the fact he played what his audience wanted to hear, and not some skewed artistic agenda where you gotta endure crappola before you get to the real thing. He was prob the greatest artist to have never succumbed to LSD. Lead Singer Disease.
