silentman Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Anyone got one that they are thinking of selling? I'm playing bass in another band and I think short scale will fit me better.
marcnorth Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I like the short scale basses. They fit me better too. I have the jazzstangmaster. It's a 66 Mustang body with a 77 Musicmaster neck with active Jazz Bass pickups in it. $550 shipped to lower 48, with HSC.
Brooks Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 someone buy that! i had both a mustang and a musicmaster in the past, but neither had this ones electronics. cool bass.
Jack C Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Anyone got one that they are thinking of selling? I'm playing bass in another band and I think short scale will fit me better. Come on Louise. Just go out and get a man bass. Long scale isn't hard to play and it sounds better.
Guest galejt Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 What scale length is a B12S or a B8S and will Hamer make a B4S?
guitfiddler Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I have one of these ..... it's a keeper, for me. I'd like to recommend trying one out. In addition to being a very attractive piece (actually gorgeous, in person,) it is very well made, with quality electronics, wide range of great tones, perfect weight & balance, excellent tuners....and the price is certainly right- IMO. Of course, some people won't be able to get past the name on the headstock, but in this case I can over-look it. (I also have a long-scale bass, a Fender Geddy Lee jazz bass.) http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics.../7/8/275178.jpghttp://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Bas...tric?sku=518679
marcnorth Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 What scale length is a B12S or a B8S and will Hamer make a B4S? The B12S and the B8S are both short scale and I'm sure if you want a B4S all you have to do is order one.My V8 is short scale also. I have a few long scale basses and my B4M, the longer scale has more punch to it but I like the short scale.
cmatthes Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 What scale length is a B12S or a B8S and will Hamer make a B4S?the Hamer short scale is 30.5", and YES Hamer will make 'em.Most of the old 4-digit basses were short scale, I believe.
serial Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I really dig these. Don't intonate for $hit above the 9th fret or so, but how much do you REALLY play up that high? Short scale and uber cool look...
elduave Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 i love that piclou, if you need one i have tons of the slammer special short scales... surprisingly great for $150 + shipping...
Guest galejt Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 She has nine frets!? That must be some secret casanova scale...like nine on the Budweiser scale.By the way, she's a nine on the Budweiser scale.
cmatthes Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I agree - my '69 Dan Armstrong is cool as hell, but the intonation is for crap higher up. I do miss Sabrina...
tafkathundernotes Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 What scale length is a B12S or a B8S and will Hamer make a B4S? I think the basses that Jack Blades has are 30.5". Am I wrong?- were they medium scale 32's? I like the short scale for some stuff, but longer is better. I know a long scale feels funny at first, but you get used to it. My Special feels really tiny after playing bass all these years.
