Just showed up on my local Craigslist for $750  (March 24th around 3 pm).   Not sure if he would ship or not.   Long Beach California listing.

This is a PSA.   I don't have any affiliation with the seller and I don't know him.

No such thing, they came out in 1985.

That would make it rare?? No? I’m not smart enough to know how to decipher the 80’s serial numbers.

that does look like some deformed wood and a crack in the finish.

It's a 1986 model.

The first digit of the serial is a "6".

The seller (like 97.8953% of people selling SS guitars) thinks it's an '84 because of the headstock label that memorializes the 1984 signature agreement between Hamer and Mr. Stevens.

What is the scale length on the SS model?

Short scale. 24.75"

A lot of those guitars with the locking nut screws going through the back of the neck have finish cracks around the holes.  Proceed with caution because it could be a neck crack, but possibly not.

Anybody know what the neck profile is like. How about the nut width? What was the weight like on these in general?

I might rabbit, I might.  Pretty thin, not Ibanez 80s thin, but slender none the less.  R2, 8lbs.
