diablo175 Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 I'm poised to sell my '91 maple Cali and I was looking at the frets and they seem like they're bigger than traditional medium jumbos. Is this possible?
Jeff R Posted May 24, 2023 Posted May 24, 2023 My VR Centaurafornian has factory jumbos compared to the standard Hamer fare as well. I seem to recall the heel is ink-stamped "Dunlop 6100" (that would be 55110s), I assume so the factory instantly had the info it needed if the guitar came back for a quick refret.
Dutchman Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 I don't know how old it is, but I used bass guitar frets in my Strat for the last 2 refrets. The last being about 20 years ago. Possibly making for odd fret sizes now that we have fret sizes.
HoboMan Posted May 28, 2023 Posted May 28, 2023 Those look like pretty big frets but not sure if they have the height of 6100 jumbos. Hard to tell from the pic. For reference, here's a close up of my Les Paul neck with SS 6100 jumbos.
