You can buy or have made almost any copy of a well known "STAR"S guitar from China for peanuts. I'm sure the build quality and sound on this guitar are in line with the price that you're paying for it. I've seen and played a Hiram Bullock "STRAT" copy that was actually pretty well done as far as what it was and after pickups and electronics upgrade it sounded pretty nice also. Think the owner got it from Alibabba.
bry4321 Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Appears to be a pretty honest description of it by the seller!   Although this guitar is playable (with a lot a fret buzz if played unplugged) it is more for ornament. Still, I played it a few times plugged in my amp and had a lot of fun. The wood is supposed to be mahogany and rosewood...but I have my doubts about it. The pickups are not bad. The frets markers are plastic looking. Surprisingly the guitar stays in tune. It's still a fun toy though.

Bought two of those some time ago just to see what it is. Stripped the back on one of them and found something that looked like mahogany, not honduran and obviously not one piece, but some light color you could find on asian Schecter, agathis may be. The wood was kinda soft, and agathis is pretty soft, neck cavity was out of whack and wires didn't fit inside, so i cut some wood with exacto knife inside the cavity pretty easy. Bridge is shit, stop bar...eh easily replaceable. PU's...hard to tell as it was not possible to play, but I guess regular chinese $15-20 for a pair. Tuners were interesting - put the string inside the hole and down the shaft it goes, no ends sticking out. So unplayable out of the box, but - change the frets, hardware, PU's maybe and you'll have yourself a nice looking and playing guitar. To paint the guitar in that scheme...I don't know $600-$1000...no idea? So I sold the experimental one as project and kept the other one to get it fixed up...but never got to it :)) although I have tons of parts/pickups   Direct from china it'll cost you $440 tax and shipping included via ems Oh...the truss rod. It sits very deep inside, like and inch deep, requires hex. Covered inside with some polishing paste and some other shit. Took me a while to clean that hole and fit 4mm wrench in there. Turned the nut, it worked. Weirdly positioned, but worked.
