crunchee Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 I've owned a couple of 1965B cabs before, if you're looking for a cab that's lightweight and tote-able that's made to '80's JCM800 standards (no particle board), I'd definitely recommend them. The original 80's Celestion 10" speakers didn't do much for me, but there's no shortage of 10" speaker varieties to replace them with nowadays...besides, somebody out there might like the originals. When shopping for the old 1965B cabs, I rarely if ever encountered the 2x12' equivalent 1966 model. Does anybody know if they have a following like the Model 1965 cabs? 1 Quote
BrianM Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 (edited) The sound of god right there folks. Incredible. Too bad I'm in a retirement home and with terrible hearing. Edited February 2, 2024 by BrianM 2 Quote
Jimbilly Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 I like that there's a speaker mounted to the ceiling so you can jam along with your favorite recorded tunes. One of the few pro players I've know, Paul Jackson of Bloodgood (not the more well known Jr), preferred the 4x10, he said it cut through the mix better than the 4x12. 1 Quote
topekatj Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 I’m still waiting for the two center stacks to swing open and see Rob Halford emerge on the Harley. 7 Quote

They still haven't made a Marshall stack standard for the Odyssey, talk about false advertising: 1 Quote
Hbom Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I mowed lawns and ran 2 newspaper routes all Summer trying to save up enough to buy that setup. I almost have it covered. With luck, and we get a lot of snow to shovel, I should have enough by Spring. But it will take a couple more years before I have enough for delivery fees. 6 Quote
geoff_hartwell Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Amazeballs! Serious question: How do you get signal from one guitar to your 5 heads? TIA 1 Quote

TIA I built myself a 5 way splitter with jfets. Before that I would run a stereo out delay into two stereo out chorus pedals and then one side of one of the chorus pedals to a stereo out reverb pedal giving me three chorus outs and two reverb outs. 3 Quote
geoff_hartwell Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 Interesting! That’s a great way to get that done with chorus and reverb pedals. Could you please tell us more about the splitter? What is the design and did you do the build? Tia! Quote
butcher Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 I tried to find the schematic I used , but no luck. I put this together about six years ago. As you can see in the pictures,I had to use surface mount Jfets, because at the time I couldn't find the transistor sized ones. A real pain in the ass. 5 Quote
