A Tally Pro was your FIRST Hamer? That is setting the bar quite high! Enjoy the SS! -
Low Wind Imperials in a Superpro?
Jakeboy replied to Whoismarykelly's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
My recently-acquired Monaco Monaco has SD Seth Lovers which are a low wind and they sound fab in this guitar. I usually change out stock pickups, but not this time. The guitar is bright, articulate, and very sweet sounding. I say go for it. I think the spruce top benefits from a lower output pickup. My Newport did as well. - Today

I contacted him when this was listed and he’s potentially also selling the warmoth neck this had with it at some point. Maple fretboard with black boomers, for anyone interested. -
What's that you say, New Deep Purple?

Cool Hamer sighting last night in DC…
cmatthes replied to cmatthes's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
They’ve always been a fantastic-sounding live band - it didn’t hurt that they were playing in the “Mini-9:30 Club” (The Atlantis, next door to the real 9:30, and a replica of the old one on F St, NW). I highly recommend catching them if they’re ever within a reasonable distance of you! -

Oops. Sorry for the additional post on this topic. Didn’t check to see if anybody else had posted about his passing. 🤦🏻

This one kinda hit me in the feels. I had been exposed to blood sweat and tears as a boy via their eponymous album that was given to my older sister, who then quickly handed it down to me. Apparently she did not find the dynamic mixture of rock, blues, and jazz all that appealing. Even back then as a sheltered, white suburban kid, I recognized the incredible energy and soul in his singing. RIP David Clayton-Thomas!

My hands are changing. Thinking about going to 9s.
HamerHokie replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I suffered from inflammatory arthritis in the 90s. It stopped me from playing altogether for several years. Believe it or not, a round of poweful antibiotics eliminated it. I've been taking some of the newer injectible T-cell inhibitors for years, and it has enabled me to play more easily. I have permanent joint damage in my left index finger, which makes it nearly impossible to play open chords like C, so I have had to learn different fingerings and voicings. Osteoarthritis is a different animal. I know some people respond well to glucosamin and chondrointin. I would get it diagnosed. -
For me, owning a lot of guitars has zero attraction. I've owned four Hamers for years, and have no desire to own more. Amps and pedals, on the other hand... I am in constant search for the 'best' Plexi preamp pedal, the 'best' boost pedal. I'm 90 percent happy with my current performance rig but whenever Tone King or Friedman or Tubesteader makes a new preamp pedal, it's like a moth to a flame.
