Maybe the older ones, and most of that was the pickups. All Gibson did was leave the Bucker where traditionally the P90 would be in an LP DC and fill in the gap with a couple extra frets. I did not care for what I felt was “Over Chambering” of the original run. The later ones felt better to me. Now that being said, I really liked, but could not afford at the time the Custom Shop Version with the different headstock. https://reverb.com/item/100315057-1998-gibson-custom-shop-les-paul-dc-pro-snakehead-butterscotch I also thought if they would have put that headstock on the Modern Double Cut it would have look well MORE FUCKING MODERN. LOL I still like that design, I believe they just screwed the pooch on the launch. Let’s through out a great guitar with no artists behind it, and hope it sticks. And then we have this. Which, I personally love, but they only went like 85% of the way. The colors are usually just off, the tops are blah. Just give it the “HIstoric” treatment like it could have been the best guitar they built in 58-61. https://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/products/gibson-custom-shop-les-paul-special-double-cut-cme-2413903?source=google&utm_campaign=gibson-cs&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22624313754&gbraid=0AAAAADRxQTiafNOGh1gr5JUBeOv_Nku4K&gclid=CjwKCAjwtKrUBhAhEiwAr77ZopWhabNQ1CD2VyjjqdCPDJcKV5WiJk8-TT5AWG7gnxgSt1fyNkqpyRoC-NYQAvD_BwE Thanks guys, I needed to get that off my chest. I think it’s been eating at me for a while.

I don't see it on Reverb. Did it sell? Thanks, H Rx -
Ernie's solo album High Wire is killer.

I had a rig with three Mesa Boogie 2x12 upright slant cabs. Used a GK 250ML stereo for the outside cabs and a Mark III Simul Class Boogie head in the middle. Wet dry wet was my thing for a few years in the late eighties!

Mine's straight up Les Paul. It's a 120th Anniversary made in 2014. Traditional thickness to the body (earlier ones were a little thinner). And no 24 frets. I paid a little less than that for mine and I think mine's worth more because of the Anniversary moniker. The guitar has grown on me. I do miss separate volumes and tones, but it's not a deal breaker.

I am not a gibby expert, but I think there was an initial run in the 90s and then a reissue about 2002-2005or6. Only bc a friend had an initial one and it came up when the second wave happened and I was already all in on Hamers. It’s a great set of specs, but can’t touch Artists and Duotones for me. Not sure if both runs had belly cuts.

PSA: '82 Prototype on Reverb w/OHSC
bubs_42 replied to velorush's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
The 82 proto I owned was slightly bigger than the 81’s, still nowhere near like Hamers mid 90’s carve. still one of my favorite Hamers of all time, but I lost my shirt on every single one I sold. Plus, prices will continue to drop. -
I got a pair of those, so I'm good to go if I want to put the 'trons on the new Newport Pro. But my orange Newport with the Bigsby doesn't fit the regular Gibson-style rings. I measured the chrome rings that came on it as 92 mm x 46 mm, and the length between screw holes as ~84.3 mm x 37.5mm.
