" it felt cheap, can't believe this went out the door in Nashville "
that's because I do not work there anymore
you know the "mapleflame mod"? you know who fathered the mod?
I am hardly on the LPF anymore, pompus.
Ive seen, chatted with Paul a few times while at the GCS, He does like his guitars, nice guy.
Watching Stanley handle a guitar is like watching Danica Patrick handle a race-car. Bookies should make odds as to how many pieces are left after the 'show'.
He won't play it live. He uses those god awful Washburn Firebird wannabe things now, although I suspect he gets paid handsomely for doing so. Like many, I'm a musician because of KISS but I really hope they just go away after the Hall of Fame induction. But it won't happen.
My vote is the guitar looks more real than his hair... but seriously... good for him, if kiss is anything, they are incredibly hard working even when they were pissing money away in the late 70's
UPDATE: More info that 1959 Les Paul Sunburst Paul Stanley of KISS just bought.........it is IS "REAL".................but it has been restored..............check it out, these are the people that did the work ithttp://gmvintagerestorations.com/examples-g.html
.............2'd guitar shown "THE DUTCHESS"..........................THINK HE LOOKS SATISFIED?
The more I think about it, and as enamored as I am of the double-cut Special shape, I think Serial et. al. may be on to something with the Prototype/2nd Gen Phantom shape. The one I've had was very comfortable.
Okay, another idea. Two words, gentlemen: Talladega Junior Flat top Talladega style body, no binding, satin finish in either ivory, black, or orange/red, same soft v neck, dot inlays, wrap tail, bone nut, Spertzels, and Phat Cats/Double Ds/P90s (depending on what will hit the price point.) $1500 I'd buy the ever-loving shit outta THAT.
