  1. Love the "religiously correct" Stanley star.
  2. Somebody needs to snag that one. Not sure I'd call that a Californian - no cutaway "scoops", not a 27-fretter, etc., but as said above, the name is unimportant!
  3. Done and done.
  4. We've zeroed in on the weekend of October 15-16th. Unless something unforeseen happens, that's when it's going to be. I'll be in touch with Chris H. soon to discuss any more details, and will let everybody here know as I hear!
  5. This is one of the coolest Standards I've played. EVER. Still shocked that it hasn't been snagged yet.

Same here. I got to share a stage and the occasional jam with him over the years. He was always accommodating and as Stonge mentioned, John welcomed everybody to sit in with him. I don't even remember the first time I met him and Coletta, but it was in the earlier days of the HFC. Can't believe it's been 4 years already - I found one of his mailed newsletters not too long ago and remember chatting about Firebirds in some depth with him. As I'm reminded of doubly today, life is way too short. Enjoy it, and play often. I think John would have said something similar...
  7. Pics do not do that guitar justice.
  8. Awesome, guys!
  9. Watch this space for more news this week... (!!)
  10. Just to check... Somebody's going to be running video for this stuff, right?
  11. Wow. I've played #2 and #3, and can't believe anybody in their right mind would part with those. (You feelin' okay, Bubs?)
  12. I agree - that's the nicest Talladega I've ever seen. SO...what's the custom case look like?
  13. I think Siobhan and I would love to beat that one!
  14. Well, there's one just like that on eBay right now... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=250644524334
  15. 16. Fun hangin' w/EL and our kids all had a blast together in the "Cheap Seats".
  17. Daxx played the whole show - very well, too. Apparently, Bun E.'s not doing the tour due to the chronic back pain issues, etc. that prevent him from doing more than 30 mins or so comfortably. The show was a full one, despite the rain.
  18. He had the 3 Fuchs heads on top of the (dummy) Goldtone cabs. The cabs are loaded with lights, not speakers. I'm not certain that those were the heads he was playing through - whenever I've been behind the wall before, he usually has a tray of a few modded Deluxe Reverbs. The pilot lights on the Fuchs heads also flashed red, blue and green - not sure if I've seen that before, but it's all about the look, right? SVL - you totally called it with the Art Carney thing! Hell, the guy's 62 though, and still moves all over the place and does a pretty decent Pete Townshend impression. Note the Roy B. modded '70s Explorer in some of those shots, btw...
  19. The Belmont C.C. in Ashburn, VA hosts a wide variety of rock acts (Black Crowes, Benatar, others) in a pretty intimate, outdoor setting in the Northern Virginia suburbs. Great night out for friends and family, although last night's on again/off again rain wasn't ideal. Didn't stop the beer trucks from pouring or the bands from rocking. Great show, with plenty of Hamer action. Here are a few pics I took in between raindrops...
  20. HBD to a great guy.
  21. Thanks for the reply - no problems with that at all, Al. Invited guests, spouses, etc. would not be a problem, but we would prefer registered members over unregistered people, given potential logistical issues. There are a number of guests who will be invited who may or may not be HFC members at this point, however. People who are not welcome here as members (for causing problems, etc.) would also not be welcome at that event, that's all. It is planned as a positive, fun experience, and there is no reason to potentially ruin that.
  22. Not sure why this is being asked, but this event would not be open to the general public, no.
  23. Working on dates, etc. We'll get that out here first as soon as it gets nailed down.
  24. We've just started the planning process, so haven't gotten that far into things. We'll have to see what CT's fall tour schedule is looking like.
