  1. Pwn57ar, If Jim doesn't act on your standard, I am interested. Please email me at hamstd@gmail.com (I can't do PM on the board, there is something funky with my account). Thanks Peter
  2. The original RN Saxophone guitar had a Roland synth pickup, mouth piece and a kahler trem. The update of the original RN "Sax" guitar (tone pro bridge and no Roland synth pickup) was at the opening of Rick's Picks. It did move out of the exhibit after a couple of months....hmmm, wonder where it ended up..... Peter
  3. Steve, you are right that #0097 is a V, but #0098 has the long oval backplate. It is sunburst, crown inlays with gold hardware. You would know better about the information on the completion dates, which I agree can be all over the map as I heard back then if someone wanted to request a certain serial number that was possible. Peter
  4. Congrats and Nice Job on getting the book completed Steve and Joe!!! Minor point on the little excerpt to the book on the Schiffer site. This might have been posted to the website before the latest proofread. While the blueburst standard is major cool, it wasn't the last guitar to have the "long oval" backplate. #0100, which is a production piece in sunburst with crown inlays has the long oval plate- I know the guitar quite well. While I haven't personally seen standard #0101, I have seen #0102 and it has the triangular backplate. And this one from 4/11/79 also has it. Peter
  5. I heard they were in contract with James Earl Jones, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson as the voices of Paul Hamer, Jol Dantzig and Frank Untermyer for the audio book..... Only time will tell. Peter
  6. Tomato, toe-mat-oo, Potato, poe-tatt-oo, Matthes, Math-ess, Makes Lets call the whole thing off..... Peter
  7. I can recommend a guy that does a great zebra finish, he did a standard awhile back.......oh wait. Nevermind.
  8. Does this one work for you? Let me know. Hamstd@gmail.com Peter
  9. The Sunburst SS II is on "hold" but the Copper SS II is still available, along with the Scarab and P90 special. Help a fellowHFC'er make alittle room. Moving to CT. isn't easy....... We don't have Snow out in Ca!!! Peter
  10. Is that dude wearing a sleeveless turtleneck? Even "it was the 80's" isn't a good enough excuse. How do you think the term "dickie" came about........LOL
  11. Not sure why you would want this factory second, it's got the wrong bridge on it. I do have one with a Kahler if you like. Not ready to part with it just yet, but I know who to call. Peter
  12. HI Bryan, I do have both of the guitars, send me a email at Hamstd@gmail.com and I can fill you in on all the details and prices. Thanks Peter
  13. Think about how "wrong" a hockey stick headstock with 12 machines heads on it would look. I think that is a called a Carvin and that is really just wrong in so many ways...... That is a goalie stick. Peter
  14. Chris, The boat hasn't sailed. Was contacted by a potential buyer who said they wanted the guitar and not to let anyone else have it but "Something suddenly came up". Available if you are interested. Let me know before they go to ebay. thanks Peter
  15. Hamer scarab II, custom ordered ordered with hockeystick headstock. Original white finish. No breaks or repairs, clean guitar, but does have dings (and dongs.....ha ha, always wanted to use that line) on the edges. Frets in excellent shape. Comes with hardshell case. Not set up for paypal, so I need either USPS or cashier's check if we can reach a deal. I can supply references if you need them. Many people here know me or we have done deals together. email me at Hamstd@gmail.com if you have any questions. thanks for looking. Peter
  16. Brian, Congrats, GREAT news and wishing you all the best!!!! Peter
  17. Just having alittle fun....... Wait til I show the the sustain block version of the granite with the half ebony/half maple fingerboard version they made for the guy in Warrant to match the old BC Richs he used. Merry Christmas eve All!!!! Peter
  18. Christmas is the time of giving and sharing with your famiies. Here you go, a pair of granites: set neck cali made for Tommy Shaw of Styx, and Virtuoso with scalloped ebony board (for those that don't care for the maple). Enjoy. Peter
  19. Schaller or Mighty Mite would be my guess as they have the three holes for the pickup height adjustment screws. Mighty mite for the one with three and one holes. Peter
  20. Are you sure Ace is ok with a stranger twiddling his knobs? I heard that is what got him fired from kiss the last farewell tour??
  21. Very Nice score. That one has definitely seen alot of action an. It sort of looks like the control cavity was enlarged (easy to tell if you pop off the plate and see the routing), plus getting that hole for the spot I assume a tap switch or kill switch was would be pretty tough. Sort of looks like you can even see the maple veneer on the top of this one as well. Nothing nicer than a 4 digit standard. Peter
  22. Hard life being a Male Prostitute..... Just kidding Steve. Peter
  23. Brian, I guess everyone will hear about it tomorrow. I don't think it will make CNBC and I certainly don't think any story on Jessie James going into Sex Rehab or Tiger Woods playing in the Masters is going to get bumped either. But I think this is going to be a new and interesting venture to start off 2010!!!! Hopefully more T-Bolts, Checkerboard Explorers and set neck Calis to come out of CT as well. Peter
