Best thing you've gotten from an HFCer
wyldbil replied to MCChris's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Wow- where to begin? So many cool rawkin' CD-Rs of this that and the other from HFCers, I can't begin to list them. Surf instro care package for my missus from Pam... Some really bitchen Japanese picks that are the jewels of my pick drawer from Tombo, killer hot sauce from Phoenix Steve, a super kewl Triumph tour program from ElDuave. The Mighty Fung sent me so much cool stuff to while away the hours while I was on my back for three months, it makes me all ferklempt. (SP?) The fellowship and friendship, e-mailed convos I have had with some of you are just awesome... BCR Greg went above and beyond when FedEx (GRRRRR...) broke one of my guitars. You HFCers have some seriuously good karma coming for DANG sure. -
Oh MAN. Bill, my heart is with you. All my best thoughts and karma to you.

Who's your newest favorite band?
wyldbil replied to phantomgt's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
The Darkness. Can't wait til their new album comes out in November! -
'79 dotneck trans cherry Sunburst, purchased 3/80. First Hamer I ever had my hands on and knew it had to be MINE. Waited tables in an Italian restaurant for a couple of months to get it. Stolen 10/84. I would give anything to get it back. Would be easy to identify by a very slightly misaligned headstock graft, lack of headstock logo and back of head and neck to about third fret black lacquer. Anybody seen it? I'll trade you something for it! Also was beat to shit last time I saw it, and it was the greatest guitar I have ever owned...

Stupid But I have to ask about strings
wyldbil replied to billhart22's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
My answer is short, but honest. The best strings for your Hamer are the ones that work best for YOU. Play around with different brands and gauges. You'll find the right ones, I promise. -
I'm with ya there Shanky, but that Moderne REALLY needs a banana headstock, not the "Gumby".
-
Just to throw gas on the fire, I would REALLY like to see one with a backwards banana headstock. Seriously.
-
OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH! I'd like to see that. Had I the means (yeah right) I'd be in for one in a heartbeat.

Nice idea. *swoon*

Alright Rockford!! Are you ready??
wyldbil replied to Cheap Chick's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
SHIT, SHIT, SHIT! We are going to Chicago in July for a Surf-O-Rama type show. (maybe the Neptunas should get into this!) No way the missus will agree to get us back up there that quick. DAMN! -
HOLY LITA FORD, Batman! Gus' black one about bowled me over.

I am an inveterate pickup-swapper. Most of my guitars end up with a DiMarzio Super D in the bridge and a PAF Pro at the neck except for my Prototype which has a push/pull coil tapped X2N only. Well, one Blitz has Mighty Mite Motherbuckers. The jury is still out on those.

Good on ya, Kilroy! Way to go... -
Same here. Some Gorilla Glue and a little patience... she's good as new!
-
All the above. Cancer seems to run rampant through my wife's family and I have watched the toll it takes on the victims and the families. Thoughts and prayers brother, thoughts and prayers.

I have had Pepto, my pink SS1 since spring 2002. Definitely the favorite of my bunch.
