This one popped up recently and a blue savoy has been up for a while at 2900 on reverb a couple other savoys, too. The one with the bigsby is attractive but too $$$$$. lastly if anyone needs an avalon check the light color flame on the verb. If still available less on TGP. none of these is quite right for me but still got my eyes open.

Has anyone compared a savoy vs a good 335? Not fit and finish - just playing and sound and general impression. No way for me to compare in person. Unless i buy both. No no no.

I was looking for one a few years ago. Not since. But there it was and I PM'd immediately and said I would buy it, just tell me where to send the $. But I was number 2, as I said. Oh, well, there may be one or two other guitars and amps out there.

If you want a reamp thingy see above. I want passive attenuation and use any of three - all are set w diff amps at random - an old kelley, a rockcrusher, and an aracom (nice for diff imp). all work. No favorite.

Yes the hi tones do look great! If i were to buy another hiwatt type would probably try one of those. that said if you dont think 20 watts or whatever can make you go deaf…. Heck, i play so poorly that 10 watts would kill you.

Just commenting -mine is not for sale. it is a great amp. Use an attenuator and ear plugs or other protection. If a dr103 you can run it on two tubes (please look up details). Set that way mine puts out 77 watts rms…. So they are quite robust. opened up the amp sounds glorious. It is fine quiet but so are many others. It is the character of the amp when it is running hard that makes it special. To me, at least. It is almost as if there are no limits. i tracked down some old fanes and had petersen build a cab. Good stuff.
