  1. +1 ... and wearing your guitar.......ONLY your guitar
  2. I've always liked this shot......
  3. BWAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAA That's what ya get fer selling such a coool axe!!!!! At least I get to play it on occasion...even set it up once if I remember right. It's all good though.....I caught Bruce on the right day and he sold me the Standard shown below ORANGE SPARKLE, BABY !!! (He's not getting it back anytime soon either)
  4. I've got 2, an R55 1x12 and and KnuckleHead K100. I gig them ALOT and they never let me down. They sound fantastic if you're after a better Marshall grind along side of a killer fender clean channel, and they are very sturdy (ie HEAVY AS HELL). I personally would never lug around a 2x12 might as well bring a (half)stack if you gonna carry some gear!!! Most of the Mesa amps that I've tried have more gain and punch and still don't sound as good with a band FWIW..... edit- I'll probably never need another amp....ever
  5. Dayum....seems like I'm always a day late & a dollar short....Happy Birthday anyway
  6. I won't sell mine..... LP's, Strats, PRS, they're all just "me too" guitars....perfectly good axes too, just too many guys think that it's the guitars that are cool.....not the sounds coming out of 'em. I haven't found many guitars that can take a beating like mine either .
  7. Like Brooks, I'm hardly ever working on guitar chops anymore....I'm always practicing vocals. Singing is a bitch for me and if I go 3 or 4 days without practicing.....it's like back to square one. I don't even sing much lead..... I've seen a couple guitar players around the clubs who can smoke me.....but I've seen alot more who can't....so I don't worry about it I DO worry about the singing though......if you're not in key then EVERYTHING sucks
  8. Looks like a great time as usual.....too bad I had to bail just as things were getting going Man....I've been brushing up on my chicken pickin' too
  9. Man, I am a SUCKER for natural guitars .... +1000 I've been trying to ignore that one.......but it would look so good next to my natural Centaura
  10. Well......my current band does mostly 90's to current stuff and we've had some success with Santeria, Same in the End, Wrong way- Sublime (pretty much any Sublime) The Middle- Jimmy Eat World Guerilla Radio-RATM(or any other Rage tunes) My Own Worst Enemy- Lit Man in the Box- Alice in Chains (if the singer can nail the chorus...good luck ) Kryptonite- 3 Doors Down(AAARRGH!!) Drive- Incubus Figured you out- Nickelback We're gonna try out Crazy Bitch(Buck Cherry) and Remedy(Seether) next weekend , I expect that they will be good'uns, they get requested EVERY gig. It all depends where yer playing at.
  11. Johnny is 40??? DAYUM..... he doesn't even look 30 yet!! I should be able to make it
  12. I've gotten by with that for 23 years!!!! Go for it!!!
  13. HAPPY B-DAY!! (are we gonna celebrate at BruceM's????)
  14. Smoke on the Water BABY!! I was 6 or 7 and crankin' it on my little transister radio
  15. +1000 My wife and I were laughing our asses off. My 11 year old daughter, kept asking, " What? What's so funny???" I kept waiting to hear the FCC was gonna ring him up for the "shadow puppet". I'm not a Prince fan at all, but I really got goosebumps when he started playing "Purple Rain" in that downpour. Great guitar playing. I always heard that the Nation Anthem and halftime show sound was pre-recorded a few days before the Stupor Bowl, and then lip-synched. That way in case of a sound problem, there wouldn't be a glitch. Anybody else ever heard this? DAMMNIT!! I musta missed the 'shadow puppet' cuz something like that is exactly what I was waiting for.....something over the top, weird and crazy and, ya know, 'Prince-like'....and I missed it oh well. Prince kicks ass, no doubt...but as for being against all odds....NOT .NOTHING is left to chance anymore. He did what he does everytime....I would imagine that he had a HELLA suite to rehearse & get warmed up in, wouldn't anybody? I have no doubt that he was one of the LEAST nervous people in the stadium I'm not slamming....It WAS the best halftime show that I remember, BUT people will NEVER forget Janet's tit
  16. +1......Prince is better than that....I'm stealing some of his moves though :lol
  17. A couple weeks ago..... edit- we had cute girls onstage with us on Saturday nite....really!! Saw some boobies too (not the wife's!!), first time in a looong time, alas, no photo evidence
  18. Your wife called.....she wants her guitar back
  19. That's my little R55-12....I've had it for a couple years now and I'm still not out of the "honeymoon" phase. Like Joe (earachemyeye) said....I LOVE that amp. It "out-cleans" a Fender (doesn't quite have the head room of a Twin though) and it will crunch along with any Marshall that I've played. People at the jam kept telling me to turn up the drive channel until the master was up to 4 1/2 or 5 and it was tearing the back of my head off, lol, but it really doesn't project alot and I like to have more speakers anyway. I can't seem to find that "warm, voxy chime" in it anywhere, and BruceM's TopHat and Ted's Hayseed 15 excel at that tone....but those amps won't do what the R55 will either, totally different animals. I would really have liked to try MCChris's Valvetech rig, it sounded excellent, nice and thick, but still cut through the mix.
  20. It COULD be 60 degrees and sunny in March.....yeah riiiight. It could be 5 below too (the next day even) .
  21. '95? Probably a thin medium. They didn't start getting chunky to... what... 1998? Ya never know, my '95 wraptail Studio has a pretty chunky neck on it..... and both my '94 Hamers are very "medium", not thin at all. I HAVE played a couple of Artists from that time (3 or 4) and they had very different neck profiles....no real baseball bats though....I've only played a few guitars with bigger necks than my Studio....BruceM's Duotone Custom, BadgerDave's old Koa topped homebuilt tele with the fatback Warmoth neck, and a '58 Junior spring to mind.
  22. Ted singing his heart out for us. Ted rocks....it was an honor and a pleasure to share the stage with him and everybody else. On another note- he and I were hanging out at a table, watching & listening & soaking up the cool vibe when he turned to me and humbly remarked "This is one of the best things that I've ever done" (the HFC). We looked around the room and saw all these people (who never would have met) laughing and hugging and making music, celebrating a BIRTHDAY and then I was humbled and I felt really lucky to be a part of it....
  23. Yup, Joe & Dave can THROW DOWN!!
  24. OUTSTANDING- great job on the vid & the pics, I almost feel like I was there.....oh wait
  25. The "loaded" part certainly explains the "blown away" part LOL! Forcing the riff of one song into another is a stunt deserving of scorn, not admiration. YESSS, you should be ashamed.... ...LMAO
