Sad, but not that surprising. Jol via his blog and Facebook presence certainly seems to have stepped up the promotion of his own brand over the past several months. Pure speculation, but maybe he's been planning this for a while. Either that or it's the self-promotion that caused his departure. I cherish my Jol-era Special, and am very curious to see what he has in store. Maybe he'll even participate on this board sometime. Oh, and I still love my Fenders. It's not like they killed your dog, geez.

I've gotten decent clean tones by turning down the volume knob on my Special. I like the range of options the stock Duncans give me.

Doesn't this guy have a terrible reputation among builders like PRS and TCM who tried to do business with him in the past? Don't drop the dispute. Get your money back and get a different bridge. I hear good things about Callaham and Skyway.

I love the inlaid logos, but the old-school plain logos still look cool to me too.

mirrorimij, that's not really speculation at all, I think we've heard versions of that basic explanation from Hamer at various times over the years.

I'm agnostic about tube vs. analog SS vs. digital. But you know, there are are lighter tube options out there than 2 heads and a 4x12 cab. Why not something like a 1x12 combo and a Powerblock as backup?
