That reminds me. I have the backplate from my '59 Strat. I'd love to sell it, but I wouldn't know how to prove it's from a '59. -

If they can write, they can read. -
Ok - I don't know any of your fancy jargon. We don't have any of that in Madison Square Basement. Sure, it could be Navarro is one of those "volume in the skeleton" guys. Or it could be that Perry Farrell is the fucking wacko he has always been reported to be. I'm no lawyer, and I don't play one in real life, but we've all seen the video of PF assaulting DN on stage in Boston. That's going to weigh pretty heavily in both cases, I would think, both for DN and against PF.

Random (Music and Guitar Related) Thoughts Thread

My God. What a story. What a woman. -
Point taken, but in this case the rightful owner is a) still alive, and b) has provenance/proof that it is his. This isn't something that was stolen from a region or group of people hundreds/thousands of years ago. That said, what have we learned here? Well, for one thing, if you are going to avail yourself of a heroine dealer's wares, you should probably pay him the agreed upon price. If you fail to do so, maybe an open door policy to the apartment where your valuables are kept is not ideal. A deal is a deal. Also, do not play guitar for the Bluesbreakers. After playing with the Bluesbreakers, Peter Green found bodhisattva and gave away his guitars. Keith Richards sold the '59 'Burst in question to Mick Taylor in '67 when Taylor joined the Bluesbreakers. Eric Clapton borrowed the same guitar in '66 "for a July 31 show with his new group Cream after his own Les Paul — heard on the Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton album — was stolen from a church hall where the group had been rehearsing." Clearly this Mayall guy was bad news.

I don't know what the outcome will be, but I know what the outcome should be: Mick walks in to the place, says, "This is my fucking guitar," takes it off the wall and walks out. Mick sues everyone involved who didn't immediately bring the guitar back to him once they knew it was his; the person who had it, the museum, the guy who wrote the article (ok - I'm just kidding there, but I'm genuinely pissed for Taylor). How it's not already in his possession is making my head spin. Everyone knows it's his - even to the point of writing articles about it - but it's sitting in a pile with 500 other guitars at a museum? And who "donates" 500 guitars??
