  1. ...and Roger Daltrey...
  2. First thing I thought of: Sure wish the video quality was better.
  3. Buffered is with buffering, and unbuffered is without buffering.
  4. “Suddenly and unexpectedly.” 82 years old. Suddenly and unexpectedly…
  5. I first saw EJ at the Beacon Theater in NYC in 1991 (Ah VIa Musicom tour). My wife and I had been married about a year, so we were at the stage where we were still playing along with our partners' interests - lol. They performed Hendrix's "Love Or Confusion" - one of my favorite Jimi songs and one that you never hear covered. It was transplendent. I saw him again in '05 in Shreveport, LA with @Jeff R, @Hamerica and @thecajunboy.
  6. You could have been right about the guitar and still lose your marbles. These two things are not mutually-exclusive.
  7. ...and imagine The Shelf!
  8. It was black. As in the photo.
  9. Yes. Everything was sold to an amp manufacturer who started production back up.
  10. lol - same here! Growing up, that record only had one side in my house as far as we were concerned.
  11. The picture is legit. The guitar is not. Greg had a messed up Hamer Phantom with a sound neck and a screwed up SG with a broken headstock, so he mated the two. I was at his shop when he got the brainstorm to create the guitar. We laughed about how everyone on the HFC would freak.
  12. Grab it and throw those knobs under a speeding bus.
  13. I'm going to steal that one. I have a similar expression for wretched smells: "It smells like my foot took a shit!"
  14. No argument there. I just don’t think anyone is making a dime off of it at that price of entry.
  15. Sure, but Jay's time isn't free. He'd be better off spending his time repairing/building something for a client than hoping to recoup what looks like 10 hours of his professional time. Unless your point is that the person with the skills would fix it and keep it, but you said "make a little bit of cash" out of it. The guitar is trash. The owner saw to that.
  16. Maybe a long way down the road, but at $5150 (apropos price for a lunatic) there isn't a whole lot of money to be made after you re-top and repaint. When you're done you'll have a refinished 4-digit with a headstock repair. Factor in what it would cost to get you there and you're losing money.
  17. Surprising, considering he took such good care of it.
  18. "Relic" is one word for that mess. "Active neglect" is how I'd describe it.
  19. In the case of the former owner, this was definitely a factor.
  20. My 1970 3 pickup LPC ALL original except for frets and replaced toggle switch. Original owner gave it to an old friend of mine, who sold it to me many years later. I bought it to flip it but I fell in love with it and kept it. Until I sold it, that is. Frets over the binding (of course).
