  1. Email sent. What a great forum this is!!! Gabe
  2. +1 Saw him perform live last November at the Iridium Jazz Club in New York. Something to remember... Gabe
  3. Van harte gefeliciteerd met je verjaardag, Conrad, en op de volgende 53! Gabe
  4. I voted white, though both colours look great. Some time ago I had a Daytona in this colour (agree with Punkavenger that it is a bit too grey) with a tortoise pickguard, then I bought a white pearloid for it, which of course did not fit. Also great pickup selection, Kinmans rule. Gabe
  5. You are probably right about the sound, but I was writing 'bout the feel of the neck. Gabe
  6. Here is the great 1994 Daytona I bought from BCRGreg (picture also by Greg). It is much lighter than the 1997 Daytona I had before and what is really great is that the vibrato handle can be abused and the thing stays in tune. The pickups have been swapped now to a Kinman Woodstock Plus set with a K-9 switching system. That includes Knopfleresque sounds, Jimi-sounds , and P-90 sounds. Edited to add: the other thing I like more about this Daytona than about the 1997 blonde one is the maple neck. It is like the maple neck on my 1994 T-51 and it feels much better/smoother than the rosewood on the other one. Gabe
  7. Admiral, This was not yours! Former Hamer employee Kevin Thiel, who I was friendly with, sent me this Daytona when Hamer was moving to CT and he was not . He hoped I would know someone that would want it. I think he knew I'd end up buying it from him. It's very light and plays and sounds great. ArnieZ First I had a 1997 rosewood board Daytona, which I liked, but it was very heavy. But then I got a 1994 T-51 with a maple board from Scott P. of The Gear Page and it is light and it sings and the maple board is very nice. So I needed a Daytona with the same kind of board and I got a 1994 Sunburst one from BCR Greg. And I couldn't be happier, because though it is heavier than my T-51 it is much lighter than my first Daytona. Gabe So I wanted a Daytona with the same kind of maple board. Got a 1994
  8. Thanks for this post. I was there at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2007 in Rotterdam (formerly the Festival was in The Hague). Great performance! I guess I was taken away by the show, sorry I did not see that lonely lady. However it was very very crowded. Gabe
  9. Hello Andreas, I have one for sale. It is a 1999 Newport, with Bigsby and Phat Cats, Trans Sparkle Orange, currently strung with flatwound strings. I have been told it is probably one of the first five made. Location: The Netherlands. Please email me at [email protected] Gabe
  10. Hey David, I do not believe and do not believe in prayers. But I am surely sending out positive vibes to you. And I hope it will turn out to be not as bad as you may think. +1 on what Tomterific wrote. All the best. Gabe
  11. All the best to both of you. Gabe
  12. Thanks Bernard, Harry and Conrad. Next time in Belgium I hope to meet Bernard and Conrad again. And Harry, when I am at my second home at De Hildenberg in Appelscha (just a couple of miles away from where you live, I think) I'll try to visit your company and buy some plants or trees. And thanks Peter for your offer (via PM), that is very kind. Gabe
  13. That is a disappointment! I don't think this is exactly the right way of doing things.
  14. Thanks to all of you. I am really looking forward to playing it. I have regretted selling my Honey-coloured 1979 Sunburst to Dirk ( who apparently bought another Sunburst very recently) ever since I did that. Gabe
  15. That one looks a lot like the one I sold to Dirk (and still regret selling). Nice guitar! Thanks for your kind words, Dirk. If you ever want to sell, please contact me first, I may even pay more for it! Gabe
  16. I remember a Honey-colored 1979 Sunburst which was sold for much less than that amount last year. I still regret that. Can I buy it back from you for the same price??? Gabe
  17. Looks like BCR Greg has some work to do.
  18. I told you so, Conrad. Congrats with the Talladega, we want to hear more about it! Gabe
  19. Although the guitar might be nice ( I personally do not have any experience with Phantoms/Prototypes), there is something wrong with the serial no. The bass guitar could be a 1991 according to its serial number. However the Phantom should have a serial no. somewhere in the 1 2000 to 1 5000 range if it is a 1981 guitar. Did you mistype the serial no? If it should read 1 4211 than it can be a 1981 guitar. See the Hamer website: http://www.hamerguitars.com/?fa=faq#serial 1980's: 0 1451 - 9 24192 1990's: 0 24193 - 9 50155 Gabe
