  1. Yep - NotSteve has my old Cruise - identical body to that one. Funny how the white turned yellow anywhere that was exposed to light. Mine didn't have the original electronics, so I don't know what the stock setup was. Nice score Chris!
  2. ....and if you can get it with a Standard headstock. And boomers. Gotta' have boomers.
  3. A bit blurry, but very recent photo:
  4. Something to keep in mind: No good deed goes un-punished! You tried your best. This guy doesn't have his shit together enough to throw it on a credit card or borrow the money from somebody. That's a clue that almost nobody thinks he's worth a damn. If the people he knows can't trust him, why should you? I don't even answer such requests any more. I changed an auction to accommodate somebody once, and it turned out to be a big hassle. Now you need to digest your insanely long post into 80 characters to leave it as feedback. Good luck.
  5. Paul Simon in the chicken suit doing "Still Crazy After All These Years" Blondie doing "Dreaming" (is free) Great drums in that song. Oh, and does this count? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxQ2g24C1os
  6. What about artists like Europe and Gary Glitter with their continued profound effect on sporting events?
  7. My best to Frank's family. Frank used to manage the Daddy's Junky Music store here in my home town and is known to many of my friends.
  8. You need real high quality earbuds for reproducing bass effectively. I'm hoping to get to that point soon, but getting the whole band on board has been the problem.
  9. Try some graph-tech saddles or maybe some o dat "nut sauce" people keep talking about.
  10. They're giving him credit for rap music. Ugh.
  11. Well, let's see........ .......a new guy...... ......seems to have a command of the language.... .......only has one Hamer, ..............but that's one more than Poe ...... .............. Yeah, what the hell, c'mon in!
  12. Most of the usual stuff, but I did get a new Zidjian A-Custom ride cymbal for the drum kit. I do play some drums from time to time
  13. Well said, Willie! You should be a professional writer! I loved his early stuff. Please, Please, Please was a great example of how to put everything you have into a song. That carried on to everything he did. After going through drugs, prison, and cancer he lived to be 73; a tribute to human durability. RIP JB!
  14. I'd like to see it, but I guess I'll have to wait for the clip to show up on YouTube or something.
  15. Congratulations and blessings! Nice pictures you got there! Just curious: Do you two have the same hair stylist?
  16. Like Greg, I'm the youngest in my band at 42 also. We're playing the rocking stuff, but I'm staying away from classic rock when possible. What once was classic is now just oldies - no matter how loud you play it. I like a lot of new rock, so as long as we're not covering tunes about teen angst, I'm good with it. And we don't look silly.
  17. If you look closely, it looks like the bridge pickup is falling out of that Hofner bass.
  18. My "big" bass rig is down to an Eden 2x12 combo. Big enough for the stage - the rest goes through the PA. On lots of gigs, I just use a Hartke Kickback 12 bass amp. I'll have to see what playing outdoors is like though. I may need a bigger air-mover for that.
  19. I wouldn't mind a guitar like this one: (though not necessarily this manufacturer) Double-neck guitar / lap steel
  20. Hey Dave, where'd you get the WAAF sticker? That station is one of my presets in the car. Good station too.
  21. I wouldn't bother to see The Who either. Even if Led Zeppelin got together, I wouldn't bother because Plant hasn't got it any more. He still has a good voice, but not the voice that made most of those songs what they were. I hate to see any band go on beyond the lead singers ability to hit the right notes. Once they start detuning 1/2 step, then a full step, the end is near. There are a few that may want to consider retirement before it gets bad. Unfortunately, the lure of the spotlight is strong....
  22. Here's some more - Friggin' KIDS! Making everybody look bad... "Mindwalk" from Wilmington, MA: (ages 11 to 15) Kings X cover: Limelight: Covering some Alan Holdsworth:
  23. Fairly new video - has a bunch of scenes from an old 70's movie that I can't remember the name of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSvd5V6SPMM 80's pop metal chicks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1vxdS1BpKw Did you know Ray Charles played sax? A holiday greeting from Nerf Herder: For those melancholy moments... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxQ660DwEtw Styx with Hamer content: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEG0TdpwhAA...ted&search=
  24. On the contrary, I'm finding middle-aged women incredibly attractive. The young ones do nothing for me any more; probably because I have a daughter that age. Funny how things change.
  25. Oreos. Friggin' things are tiny compared to years ago. They also took out whatever fat stuff they had in them to make them less unhealthful. That kind of screwed up the taste too. Beer IS much better.
