To quote Alanis, "isn't it ironic"? Working at the greatest guitar audio company in the world, and having all those wonderful toys at your disposal and you get rock-blocked by it! BTW, 10.9 once again killed. I hope you're enjoying the new gig. On the subject, I can't say I'm necessarily better, but different. Absorbing different genres, merging and regurgitating them in unexpected ways, just has always seemed to be the natural progression of things. It feels like I'm better, but could just be the wonderful feelin' of constantly new "strange".

Don't ya mean half EXPLORER, half Paul(ish)? Since you look to be the man with the Dean plan, Arm, any shrimpfork headstocked Caddy's hiding in that stash you'd want to part with?
-
The Dean site has a FS board on the forum. BUT- funny enough, most of the good vintage geets are still sold by members on eBay and not on the forum. One of the guys there just sold two beautiful '81 Cadillacs last week on eBay (both went for $1300). I too have been searching for a Dean Caddy, but unlike most I want the shrimpfork headstock and stock Kahler (puts me in the '83 to '85 range). If anyone has one and wants to let it go hit me up. Would love crowns and 7 ply as well.

When will it actually be released? "It's in the book."

Rise of a Pheonix. A sunburst is reborn from the ashes ntl shop hap pictorial

Wish I would have bought this one. Jay is the Hamer restoration king! -
Indeed, veatch.

Sorry, but that is incorrect. "Full Moon" was Rob Hardings solo opus. Ivan only played rhythm. Can't remember exactly what they said he used, but it was not a Hamer (Rob didn't play Hamers, he was the "single coil" side of the tone for OB). Most likely a Fender, as that was one of Rob's main brand weapons of choice, but could have been his Epi... Here's the redux version we recorded and released last year, and this time it's definitely a Hamer ('82 Sunburst to be exact), played by yours truly.... https://soundcloud.com/offbroadwayusa/full-moon-turn-my-head-around

"Pool Hammer". That was Paul's porno name.
-
Ah, you guys are bitching about Prince dicking up an Epi? Shit, think about that fucker who keeps routing vintage Hamers for Kah-.... Um, never mind... And on that note, vintage Hamer double neck for sale in the FS section. Hope someone snags it before I lend it to his Purple Majesty... or worse...

Happy birthday to all!

I like it. Wonder why it's for his Father-In-Law. It honestly has never crossed my mind to write a tune for mine. Hell, it normally doesn't cross my mind to even talk to him. Picture time: fam.jpg The lovely Missus, The Ugly Me, My Wonderful Angel , My wonderful Brandon before he turned into my Avatar. From our last visit to Busch Gardens Nice! Beautiful wifey, awesome progeny! And a handsome bald man is always a plus. -

Here's a little Hairy Dude vid that mixes it up fairly nicely. -

Loved her for a long time, believe I was one of the people who brought her up here to begin with a while ago. Also dug the hairy dude, I really can't say he lacked "soul". All that said, I now want to see pix of aforementioned wife and girlfriend. Don't give a shit about either of your guitar playing abilities, but I know Thorn's got a honey (mentioned in outland posts previously) and I'm really jazzed to see jet's squeeze after such a boast. Let the games begin! -
Well, it was fun....... but it's over.

Screw guitar players, the vast majority of kids (and that ranges from 5 to 25 at this point) could give a shit about guitar heros and don't even know what or who they are (other than the "geezers" they virtually aped in the vid game). They needed to strap one on Miley Cyrus, Britney, Kanye, Psy or "insert flavor of the moment here" and produce a special "The Biebs" model. Mainly they needed, as has been said in this thread a trillion time, to create affordable models in addition to the cork sniffing costlies that us grandpa types kept asking for. The epic fail was selling the brand in the first place, and Paul, the man who knew how to actually sell the damn things, leaving. Just goes to show a genius/master craftsman can make a hell of a product, but without the pitchman with the heart, soul and patter it don't mean diddly-iddly-dick. -
Come on Brent are we ashamed?

That's the way of the world. If someone told you that everyone was ENTITLED to whatever they feel they're due or "owed", than that someone was full of shit. The only things we're entitled to after we're born is to breath, shit and die- everything else you have to work hard for, and in some cases also be lucky enough to score. If you can make a profit selling guitars in this day and economic age, good on ya. I've bought from Brent and he's always been a stand up guy, and I've never felt cheated. I'm sure he made a profit on what I bought, and I'm glad he did. -

Guys, we're all a little upset about the news and simply discussing our opinions. I know I'm just yakkin' and not meaning anyone any ill will or trying to be argumentative, just sayin' what comes to mind as I read the thread. Maybe just this once we could avoid the butt hurt responses, whaddya say? -

I don't think it's a hiatus at all- I think Fender is in trouble and we'll see more downsizing from them in the very near future. If it was a hiatus, the custom orders would have continued, albeit on an even smaller scale. Hell, even one a year. And even if they were just "cooling" the brand, having those imports being the momentary torch bearers is a baaaaad move. -

Sorry to say it, but If he does (and that's an IF), he's an asshole. Who would feel good about a company they co-founded and were involved with for so many years going down the drain? Um, a lot of people, especially those of us who've been screwed by said companies. Don't know the exact details of Jol's leaving Hamer, but assuming there is bad blood there. IMO he's not an asshole if this makes him smile (though the majority here think he's an asshole no matter what) because he got shafted.... -

I think Jol feels pretty good about himself everyday (guys has a great outlook on life, seems like), but this has to be an extra special boost...
