  1. Hopefully helpful promotion on this side of the pond http://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/109829/shishkov-custom-guitars?new=1
  2. Things where you can have a perfectly serviceable item for a very reasonable price, but derive pleasure by having something fulfilling certain criteria... Other stuff fits the bill like... Top end guns, Westley Richards, Boss, Hollands, Famars and one or two others, ... guitars - well we know all about those don't we... Timepieces... Patek, Nardin, Breguet, possibly JLC... Cars...Morgan, (i'll think of some others in the edit...) ... Mega high end hifi?
  3. Well, it's masculine art isn't it. Something supremely function which is well made by someone who is super talented, and cares about what they are doing, working to a superb design, using splendid materials, with appropriate embellishments.
  4. Ah, the well documented phenomenon of the figured maple positive feedback loop. That can make you crazy m8. Take a fuschia SS1 and call me in the morning.
  5. " Dad, if it ain't got a reverse headstock n boomers, you can keep it" " ...blade switch? Piss off, swap it out for a toggle pronto!"
  6. Nice one. That's a great headstock shape, nice and compact.
  7. This is a hard question for me, cos I've only been out playing twice in the last x years, which is shameful, and marks me out as a right bedroom tart I know. I'm lucky enough to have some great great guitars, and sadly the only kind of places I'm likely to get to play would make me concerned of loss or serious damage. When I did go out I took 2 guitars, one was my EBMM Silhouette with floyd, and my Special FM, and played about 45mins of a 90 minute bash with each. The idea was that he FM was a fixed bridge backup if required, and although they are both great guitars, I could probably find another one the same (or nearly the same) should some light fingered twat nick one or other of them. I'm careful with my stuff so it is unlikely I know. These days, it would be probably my knackered pink SS1 or Cali Std with maybe the FM as a back up or maybe even a second SS1 (the White one) just to be really unimaginative. So my dream gear line up would really be all the guitars I currently have most of which I would have a hard time of replacing, like my posh mockingbird which is just incredible! One day I'll get a '61-'63 LP Jr, and I would use this to death if it would be safe and un droppable Can't think of much else I would want over the guitars I'm lucky enough to have today... ...until tomorrow that is
  8. Yeah yeah yeah... Where's the penguin? That's all we really care about... Chop chop..,

  16. 20 something group? What do they know
  17. In the uk I'd be thinking 400 to 500 quid would be a decent price... What you have is a properly great deal! That's like 235 pounds...!
  18. Nice deal, Birdseye neck is a bonus. I'd say 400 notes is a great deal. Congrats!
