  1. I'd love to see that one in indigo...
  2. Proudly sponsored by Gennie Cream Ale.... That GM Special is gonna look killer...what color is she gonna be?
  3. YES! I just blasted that disc this weekend. Love it. No reunion potential though unfortunately...I believe the singer is dead. And Junkyard rocks too. Good call.
  4. His guitar player Andy York is impressive. First heard of him when he did a brief stint in the last 80s with one of my favorite bands *ever*, Jason and the Scorchers.
  5. +1 Charcoal is one of the best odor destroyers (along with baking soda). Oh yeah...aren't those foot odor things made with charcoal?
  6. I just bought a used guitar that smells of cigarette smoke. It's not overpowering but it is there. What's the best way to remove the smell from the guitar and the case? Thanks
  7. What a huge contribution he made...and he seemed like such a down-to-earth guy. RIP. I must say I'm a fan...
  8. This would have been amazing... "we were planning a Montrose reunion for my birthday in Cabo this year. Montrose, the whole band, has not been there. Denny's been there, Bill's been there, Ronnie's been there – but [the whole band together] has never been there. I said to Ronnie, "Come on, man. We're all getting old. Let's do this again while we can." And he was in, we were all in. On my 65th, on October 13th, I was planning on coming out with Montrose, doing the whole first album, then going in with my other band, and then bringing Chickenfoot out. I was going to try to [cover] my whole four decades for the fans that night, without nobody knowing. And Ronnie was in..."
  9. Man, that was awesome. Thanks for posting it..
  10. Sad news indeed. I love that first album, but didn't get turned on to it until 1987 or so. Loved it ever since. Found this that was supposedly taken fom his site...check the last sentence. A few months ago, we held a surprise party for Ronnie Montrose’s 64th birthday. He gave an impromptu speech, and told us that after a long life, filled with joy and hardship, he didn’t take any of our love for granted. He passed today. He’d battled cancer, and staved off old age for long enough. And true to form, he chose his own exit the way he chose his own life. We miss him already, but we’re glad to have shared with him while we could. I guess he and Gary Moore can now discuss the Les Paul "issue" wherever they may be...I was just talking with somebody about this a few days ago, wondering if it ever got resolved. http://www.musicrada...ry-moore-207251 http://www.courthous...5/18/Guitar.pdf And in closing...
  11. I love that guitar. And to clarify, it's an original, although I'm sure Murkat could do the conversion flawlessly.
  12. Sweet. Should look killer with the new pups.
  13. Nice one....looks more orangey red than in the original pic. That came from GC in CT???
  14. Awesome. Good on you for doing that!
  15. I bought a Sony 46" XBR LCD with the 120hx refresh rate about 4 years ago and I'm very pleased with it. My TV is in a very big bright room (one side is all glass with no real way to put window treatments up) so I needed a bright display, and one without the shiny glass on the display to prevent or minimize reflections. I's like to upgrade to a bigger unit but the issues with brightness remain - I'd like the refresh and detail of the plasma but the room brightness won't permit it I'm afraid. And it seems all the new LCDs/LEDs have the super shiny glass which picks up the distracting reflections.
  16. I wanna go if for no other reason than to see all those 18-wheelers that serve as stands/backdrops fpr some of the finest looking guitars I've ever seen...
  17. I thought this was pretty cool. Wow...playing .007s? Chambered necks?
  18. I caught the FCA anniversary show in CT last night. Frampton was great and the band was tight. I feel a bit cheated though - the show was short compared to El Duave's experience. Only played about two hours - they left out Shine On and Jumpin' Jack Flash, and the only encore was While My Guitar Gently Weeps. No "other" Frampton of Humble Pie songs were played. I'm not sure if perhaps there were time restrictions due to the venue being a Casino theater (MGM Grand), or possibly Frampton got miffed because some woman in the front row kept taking cell phone video of him during Do You Feel Like We Do. He told her to "hang up the phone and go Twitter somewhere else", but she kept on and he was visibly angered. Anyway, it's worth checking out, and at the shows you can buy CDs of the night's performance which I thought is pretty cool (but not real inexpensive).
  19. Is this a scam...?
  20. Wow, reminds me of the first time I saw a Shania Twain video almost 20 years ago. And this babe drives a classic Mustang ragtop (with the coveted deluxe "pony" interior"...). Mmmmmm.
  21. Although my tastes change, this one has a good shot, IMO Uploaded with ImageShack.us
