  1. There's a thread over on The Gear Page and quite a few people have chimed in. It seems that his customer service has not improved. I, too, have e-mailed him and I never got a reply. Too bad, so sad. Next time I see him, I'll ask what's going on with respect to the company and the customer service / delivery situation. By most accounts, it sounds like he's got a great product, but it's got to get into people's hands.
  2. Man, I might need to get a couple of those for my Strats. PRS trems rule. Mann's been selling those for a while (and in fact, the Fishman Piezo bridge on my Mirage II was made my MannMade). However, from what I understand, ordering from him can be a bit of a buyer beware situation. -Austin As I understand it, there was an issue during the time when he had sold the company to his employees and they didn't manage things too well. The business got ripped pretty good on some guitar forums. John Mann has since re-acquired the business, but as they say, the damage is done. He's a good guy - I run into him occasionally at the local blues jams. I'll be happy to ask him about the current availability situation if anyone here needs something.

  4. Have a good one Chris!
  5. upload them to some place like photobucket.com, then link to them. Full instructions at the top of this message board.
  6. If someone were to fly into Midway, would you or someone in the Chicago area have room for an extra passenger? It would save a lot on the hop to MSP and/or renting a car. Just a hypothetical at this point.... but I'm thinking about it!
  7. From July to the first part of October I had a stretch where I had at least one gig in 15 out of 16 weekends. From the second week of October through mid-January I have 3 on the books. Anybody else here had their schedule fall off a cliff? I'm not totally surprised with the economy the way it is. Then again, maybe I need a new agent. This seems to be happening for my former band too, as well as with my solo work. I'm expanding my gig area and it looks like I'll be able to pick up some new club work that way, but damn.......
  8. Crap! NOW they tell me.......
  9. If there's one thing I've learned about people, it's this: (With the exception of large city-dwellers) Any person over the age of 21 who does not have the desire or means to own and maintain a car is not someone I want to "work" with. It tells me they lack the maturity to just pull their own weight. I don't even entertain the thought of being in a band with them any more. I work with a guy like that at my day gig. He frequently needs a ride somewhere because his POS car broke down, he's usually strapped for cash, late on his rent, can't show up on time, and it's ALWAYS because someone else is "being an asshole." I'd tell him to look in the mirror, but it fell off the windshield six months ago and he can't afford glue.
  10. None hold a candle to this version of ! Hip-hop remixes of anything and "country" versions of rock songs leave plenty to be desired.
  11. The Seattle bands each had some decent stuff, but the "grunge" movement did nothing for me when taken on the whole. It may have been an antidote to Poison, but I think it ultimately gave birth to cookie monster music and the whole EMO thing.
  12. "....we pondered the idea of creating a "modern" replacement. It may be time to raise a little more hell for old time's sake." Tease!
  13. happy birthday!
  14. As far as guitar players go: Roy Clark Vince Gill Jerry Reed Leroy Parnell (slide) Glen Campbell
  15. That's a broad spectrum there. Any particular style? Hillbilly banjo stuff, or more in the "crossover" variety?
  16. That guitar has such a great story behind it. Nice to see it on a big stage
  17. HA! No, I was living there. I was with the US Air Force in Germany from 1984 to 1988.
  18. Skinny guy, skinny tie.......this one was taken in Germany in '86. I still have the '79 Sunburst, actually. The bass player has a very early Porsche-pearl-painted Warwick "Streamer" bass. That's a rare bird! I have other pix around and as soon as I get my scanner figured out, I'll post 'em.
  19. We're pullin' for you David. "You just call on your brothers - when you need a hand... We all need somebody to lean on."
  20. I know the Talladega, Monaco, and Daytona are names of famous race tracks. Chaparral was a race car company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaparral_Cars Jol is a car and racing afficianado, so that's probably where they come from.
  21. Have a happy day, Dave.
  22. Not much - they're chambered. I picked one up at the factory and the body alone was a feather. I'd guess 7 or 8 lbs?
