  1. I noticed that too. Chris takes care of most of the spam stuff, so he could tell you - but we do deal with a lot!
  2. We were just discussing this one which sold for about twice yours http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hamer-USA-Sunburst-E...=item2a0c07ba20 We do see the USA models pop up from time to time. I played one identical to yours a couple of years ago in a shop not far from here. I found the workmanship to be of a very high quality.
  3. Welcome! Many of our members have the Korean imports and love them - especially at the low price. Stick around and enjoy.
  4. Hard to tell, but I think that he's playing a Guild in this video: To me, that's a kick-ass lineup.
  5. Especially since he's not even a guitar hero! I keed....... loves me some Brian May
  6. Your concept and theme, or his?
  7. Jeez..... since Chicago, you two are inseparable!
  8. When I was churning through 4 or 5 guitars and basses a year, ebay was my crack-house. I do still occasionally buy something there, but it seems now that I gig heavily, the thrill of new acquisition isn't necessary. I'd much rather buy and sell here on this board than anywhere.
  9. Wow - sorry to hear that Vibes sent!
  10. According to the calculator, it's a F#dim Find this handy little tool at: http://www.gootar.com/guitar/
  11. Anybody want to split the cost of a room? I'm planning to drive, so if someone is flying in, we can make use of my car for the weekend. Drop me a PM. TIA
  12. Very nice indeed. I also like the logo position out on the end of the headstock (back where it belongs)
  13. Nice bass you have there: The 2-tek Cruisebasses are noticeably heavy (I had a 5 string that was abou 11lbs) but it had the most awesome tone of any bass I've ever had.
  14. I would seriously doubt that it's a 1K resistor. A 1 ohm, 1% resistor is more likely. Using a 1K would dramatically shift the bias point of the amp by itself. To add one yourself, find the cathode lead on each power tube and replace its connection to ground with a 1 ohm 1/2 watt 1% resistor. I've done it on almost all of my amps. In the event of a tube failure, it also acts as a fuse which can save your output transformer.
  15. I meant relative to "mainstream" music of the day. Even Kiss was a little "out there" back then. Most of these kids don't know the first thing about their instrument or how to play it. They just drop tune it and play these one finger chords....... don't get me started.
  16. Having watched that sort of thing for the last 8 years, (my son was in such a band) I can honestly say it's not a total loss. They do eventually mature and start singing or really playing their instruments, or just give it up. It's no worse than the punk shit that came around when I was growing up.
  17. Wow. Just wow That is one fine piece you have there. Welcome! 4-digits are highly sought-after and they're worth at least $350. I'd be glad to take it off your hands, dust and all.
  18. Curious as to how you are amplifying your sound for the acoustic gigs? What kind of guitar pickup and are you using an amp, or throught the PA? What do you think of the Braggs Direct/Para-eq? Thanks! I'm doing about 7 or 8 "acoustic" gigs per month and looking for more. I use a Hamer Artist 25th Anniv. or a Carvin Bolt strat-o-copy both with the Graph-Tech Ghost pickup system. I run it straight through a compressor and into the mixer. Never tried the Baggs unit myself
  19. I thought the "stadium logo" looked good on some of the shredders, myself. There was also a logo slightly larger than the current model, I thought - mid 90's maybe?
  20. Eagles Beach Boys? (with the surf boards) Talking Heads (on the TV's in the window) Deep Purple (Far building) Pixies (flying around the Virgin sign) Twisted Sister White Stripes (the crosswalk) Madonna (next to the Dead Kennedys)
  21. Hi Paul! Welcome! (seems strange to say that for a club that bears your name) + 1 on a party for Paul (4321 in June?)
  22. Another noble act here at the HFC - keep us posted on the progress, Geoff.
