  1. Pretty ridiculous to have that much repetitive gear. And yes, prices are too high.
  2. I didn't think her performance of "Memory" was as good as her version of "I Dreamed a Dream." Shaky start and I wasn't feeling the orchestra's arrangement. She has pipes, though, no doubt. I'm guessing a song from Phantom of the Opera will be next.
  3. I paid with PayPal (linked to a checking account), so he received payment immediately. For me, this is just a fun experiment anyway. Your post about ordering was on April 15. It is now May 17. I guess that proves there is a problem.
  4. We're the same age, cool. Happy B-Day!
  5. He's too over-the-top half of the time, but when he's on, he's fuckin' on. I thought his "Whole Lotta Love" and "Cryin'" were killer. Dude has vocal skills but needs to tone down the gayness a notch. We get it, you're gay, just sing.
  6. I think it's cool that you can actually meet Eric if you win and go with the pick-up at store option. If you can afford that guitar you could surely afford to fly to the store. If Mike McCready was selling one of his vintage LP's and was willing to meet the buyer, I'd consider taking out a loan.
  7. I have a Yamaha SBG200 that I have less than 200 bucks in. I'll probably never let it go due to the fact I couldn't buy something of equal quality for that price.
  8. A quilted-top Special with Rio Grande humbuckers.
  9. That Standard is bada$$. Jol Dontzy builds a mean guitar.
  10. Iron Maiden's "Wasted Years" from the Somewhere in Time CD inspired me to start playing when I was 13. So I guess Dave Murray and Adrian Smith were my first guitar heroes. I was also attracted to the punk stylings of Suicidal Tendencies and they're guitarist, Rocky George. My first attempt at songwriting was actually re-writing a Suicidal song with my own lyrics. Since then, I'd say my style is most similar to Iommi... low, slow, & heavy! Edited to add a photo of Rocky George:
  11. I would have emailed the seller but I'm thinking its not even worth it. Maybe one of our other NC members will get some info. If legit, my guess would be a trans-blue Mirage.
  12. http://raleigh.craigslist.org/msg/1036762500.html
  13. Austin is obviously referring to John Meyer.
  14. I thought it was Satch, not Vai.
  15. Yeah, sometimes its hard to believe that something so simple could be original.
  16. I was practicing/jamming tonight and I started playing this stoner metal riff that I thought was pretty cool. The more I played it though, the more I thought I'd heard it before. I was thinking it was a Rainbow or Black Sabbath riff, but after listening to the intros of the tracks I thought it may be, I couldn't find it. I'd hate to make a song of it only to discover later its a complete ripoff. This ever happen to any of you?
  17. Valient Thorr Seriously... awesome.
  18. If he had owned a set-neck Cali with boomers this forum would have probably imploded.
  19. Let's do an HFC import guitar like they do on the Dean forum. Search BTMN's DOA post if you don't know what I'm talking about.
  20. Is Zilmo still a member here? I'm sure he's got something worth having!
  21. I bought a used Mira from GC but returned it before the 45 days were up. Very nice guitar with lots of tones via the coil-tap. Def not "import" quality or "import" looks. I'd like to buy one to keep one day. I think they are one of the best buys on the used market for a USA guitar. I'd like to try a DGT, too. I like the idea of a PRS with the Hamer 2 volume, 1 tone layout. The plain top, moon inlay DGT's are reasonably priced, but still expensive. I'm gonna wait for a used one.
  22. Electronic drums on stage! You don't see that often.
  23. That's a fine piece of wood right there. The tort guard really makes it complete. Seems like a good price, too. Probably the second coolest Baker I've ever seen. The first was an all-black Crucible. Sick!
