  1. Well after a 1 1/2 of unemployment and 939 resume's sent out, countless emails, phone interviews, in person interviews it has come to an end. I start a new job in January and I no longer have be envious of all the NGD post's or lusting after something on the for sale board! I owe a big thank you to my wife for putting up with the situation and not kicking me out of the house to get job at the local Walmart stocking shelves or as a greater! So any of you who may do the hiring for your company please take a serious look at the 50 and above crowd. Most of us are hard working, experienced and know what the hell we are doing! Some time after the 1st of year I plan on posting a few WTB post's I need to release some GAS that has been building up! I want to be able to show up at 4321 event and let Bruce and the boy's make it sing! Current list of lust Maple board Daytona P90 Artist Newport Thanks Carl B.
  2. It was a great time and I met many new friends. WOW! Bruce is a wonderful host thank you sir! It was great to watch some of the great jams that busted out between Z, Badger Dave, Ted, Tombo, Ray, Shredmeister, BillW and Bruce. George and my friend Bass Player Bob keeping the groove on Bass going through out the night. The Lady's sounded great too Carmie and sorry I forgot the name of the long blonde hair with the beautiful voice.. Mrs Z was a treat to meet too. Dam Z your a lucky man! lol Bob has promised me that he will join the HFC as long as he get's to keep playing Bruce's 8 string! Thanks to all for the gracious welcome to 4321 club! Carl B
  3. Well Bruce it looks like I can finally make it to one of these. I will be bringing a bass player along with me! What time do the festivities get started?? Carl B
  4. I saw this on one of my face book buddies post's http://www.rockhall.com/get-involved/interact/poll/ Here are my 5 votes not in any particular order. Deep Purple Yes The Zombies Linda Ronstadt Ok this one is a tie as I could come up with reasons for all 3. Peter Gabriel Kiss Hall and Oates
  5. Sorry to hear about this Ted. I will keep my eye's open here in the south metro for you. If you have pic's & serial numbers of the stuff stolen take copies to the local music, pawn and thrift/consignment stores in your area. If was it was someone local there not going to far to try and unloaded the stuff. Sometimes you have to remind some of these places to do the right thing. We had a kid in the neighborhood who was breaking into car's & houses but like a stupid idiot he got caught by a home owner and his 2 German shepherds. They found some of the stolen property at the pawn shop by Canterbury Downs. Pray for a quick end to this for you and your family Ted. Carl B
  6. This so reminds me of a group of high school kids trying to form a band. They have no real talent and wouldn't know it even when it kicked them in the balls. They have a image they want to project that is all and musical talent is secondary to them. You can't like certain bands in the Metal genre to be in this band WTF?. So what if you have a Line 6 half stack, gear can be bought/traded for new gea
  7. There is one on evilbay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-Jeff-Beck-Stratocaster-Strat-1991-1992-1993-/281149949241?pt=Guitar&hash=item4175d7c539
  8. Tombo, Robbie and I all grew up in St. Peter. I'm pretty sure it was called Parker Music but could be misremembering. It was on the back side eastern end of Madison East Shopping Center. There was a guy who worked there I think named Paul Gurerro or something and while I never saw them the story was that he and his brother bother bought Standard customs in reverse finished from each other Matching Lita fords salt and pepper. I remember Browns had a story in New Ulm but didnt think it was in Mankato OMG! My mom was a english teacher at St Peter HS. Also my brother in law was a math computer science teacher too. Dam what a small world!
  9. Hikrateboy, where exactly did you live when you were growing up? I was born and raised in Mankato/North Mankato. I don't remember Parker music but that maybe because I am old! I do remember Brown's Music, Schindals Music, Rhapsody Music and Schiedels Music. Carl B
  10. ...understatement of the year. But it's WILLIES!!!!! Do you not understand the fact that this is a VINTAGE guitar store? With pictures of famous people on the walls? And stuff?!? I have been in Willie once about 5 years ago. They had some nice stuff and rotten customer service. I was ready to buy a 1995 Hamer Artist they had for $1500 then they wanted $200 for the case! Walked out with out saying a word and haven't been back since.
  11. Buy new and like my local Ace hardware they will sharpen them for $10 to $12 that way you always have a sharp one handy.
  12. I just ordered some if your order amount is less than $25 there is a $2.99 charge. Canadian Recording Artists: Souvenir Sheet Rush Stamp
  13. Thanks guy's for all the input. I see US Customs has some web specials on bodies, necks and planks that look interesting. I have some ideas running around in my head I just haven't finalized anything as of yet. I know I want a all maple neck and fret board. As for body colors that is where I am stuck, either a Black or Blue burst, Emerald metallic green and maybe add binding to it. I just found out from a friend of mine who manages a circuit board shop that we could use one of there CNC machines if I decide to go the slab of wood route.
  14. I want to try my hand at building my own guitar but I am just not sure which rout to go. Do I buy a kit guitar if so which one? Or do I buy the pieces individually from Warmouth, AllParts, or other such places. I guess I am leaning towards a strat or possible telecaster. Any suggestions, opinions on which way to go would be helpful. Thanks Carl

  20. If I buy one for my son and keep it at my house does that count against me? If I sell one before the 17th and buy a cheaper one to replace that one after the 17th is that cool? Sorry I haven't read all 6 pages of this thread..
