Whos the Hamer whisper? necking a tech in the eastern/USA

I need someone that can reset a neck in a 1982 Special.
I have a couple guitar techs in my town but one couldn't remove it and Im not sure the other can.
Looking for someone that maybe worked at Hamer or knows them. 
Im located in TN/USA

BCR Greg.  He was Hamer warranty repair guy for a good while.

Indeed, but he sold BCR Music and now builds and repairs guitars from his new shop, Platzer Guitars.

Waaay up north…well, north of TN…here in Louisville I’ve relied on Bill Barney (bill@barneysguitarservice.com) to work on my Hamers for the last five years. It seems that he trained most of the other competent techs around here. I have never had a neck reset but I can tell you that he elevated one near-mint condition Artist Custom from really good to plays-like-butter. He cut a new bone nut for a Newport Pro Custom that I was considering letting go but now is my go-to fusion axe.

Just curious, but what happened to the neck? Is the joint failing, or can you not get the action to an acceptable height?

Im not sure, I bought as a husk from a guy that says it was. I may put the tuners/bridge back on and string it and see what is going on with it
