I got considerably less than $7000 for it when I sold it.

It's now in the ritzy part of the Bay Area, so maybe the owner thinks it's worth more than it's worth in real life.

How long ago did you sell it?

Just curious.

Oh, it was over a dozen years ago.
The photos I have date back to October of 2011 and I didn't keep it for long.

Wow! That's beautiful!

Inflation has gone up 35.5% since then.

So $100 then costs $135.50 today.

I wish I could go back to $350 Hamer USA Crowned and Bound Standards, Calis and Chaps!

Take a look a Reverb today... you can't find the exotic, unique Hamer like you could a year ago. There are a few nice deals but nothing just right, at least for me.

I've been waiting for a Rick Nielsen numbered Futura to pop up.

I regret canceling an order for a NOS one for $5000 with the Checkered case, silver switch cover and all the candy.

These are just my opinions and yes $7000 is expensive, but it is a unique guitar considering Gibson wants $9,999.99 for one of their thinner ones.

For some it's a once in a life time purchase.

For others a tool to flip for more money.

Actually #36 still resides on the east coast. ☺️

Frank, did I buy it from you or sell it to you?  Or both?  Did we trade?

So many awesome guitars have passed through your hands and to and from your friends hands.

That's amazing! It truly is.

Have a great night.

Yes, certainly more than I deserved to own.
Truly an embarrassment of riches.

Was 36 a one piece body?

I bought #19 and it's a two-piece body. Was supposed to be NOS but no Reg card. Not a scratch or ding on it. Case was mint. I bought an older fitted case for it to keep the points fresh and unscathed. Yes I over paid but I love it and it is still mint. Somehow I think most stores don't tell tell the truth. If as started below they bought directly from factory, where is the Reg Card.

From seller "These two guitars have been residing in our shop since we got them directly from the Hamer factory in the '90s, and have been revolving from our shop (out of public reach) to our vintage guitar museum on the top floor of our building ever since."

After buying one and returning to GC one without original PU, a Coffin Case, I decided paying more for one with a Hamer Case and supposedly NOS was a better route for me. I think it was 26 or 28.

My Korina 5 string Standard bass is 2 piece body.

Are two piece bodies less desirable?

I love the sound, tone and souls of both of them.

No, I don't think so.
