sirDaniel Posted March 31, 2005 Posted March 31, 2005 ...the CASE OPENING CEREMONY.People, lets not arrive at 7:00. The jam starts then. Show up at 5:00 so we can OOOOOGLE AND TOUCH AND STRUM AND NOODLE AND DROOOOOL.That to me is as good as a music store visit. We all take turns handing guitars to Mike and watching him WISH he didn't play left handed.Chris, are you "closing" the Muse to the public this year or are the doors open?
MCChris Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Closed to the public so we can enjoy some adult beverages.Yet another attraction (just added today in fact) is we're now wired for Wi-Fi! Anyone and everyone with a laptop and wireless modem, feel free to bring it so we can log on to the board and post updates in real time. For whatever that's worth.
tomteriffic Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Hell, Dan, that's the whole reason I'm coming, the Case Opening Ceremony. I might as well have a little fun before you guys wipe the floor with this ol' fart.
sirDaniel Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 You all HEAR THAT!!!The party starts at 5-5:30pm NOT 7PM.
Nuclear Wessel Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 ...the CASE OPENING CEREMONY.People, lets not arrive at 7:00. The jam starts then. Show up at 5:00 so we can OOOOOGLE AND TOUCH AND STRUM AND NOODLE AND DROOOOOL. Excellent suggestion, SirDan. I'll be there as close to 5:00 as I can.
hamerhead Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 God, I wish I could be there. Hopefully next year. Maybe by then I'll have that damn SB Junior!
Guest hectorp2 Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Roger That.We will come early this year....must see Young Rob "Nuclear" Wessel's vast collection of pointy instruments.
BCR Greg Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Wessel's Missles, indeed.I wish I could do it, but timing sucks this year.MC Chris, I'll wear your colors proudly that night in protest of my absence!

MCChris Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Google search for AC/DC lyrics. Check Another bonus: yesterday I got a new computer and DSL connection at the cafe. We can punch up and print any tabs and lyrics we need lickety split.I'm also going to talk to the guy who records my Sunday night jams and see if he's available on Saturday. I can then burn copies of the mayhem on the spot and hand 'em out or mail 'em out to you afterward. Not exactly a free Valvetech, but they're perks nonetheless.
Michael_ Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 That sounds awesome! I wish I could be there, man, why isnt there something like this in the Southeast?
sirDaniel Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Chicago is a cheap destination for the weekend for those with access to Southwest airlines. Midway airport is very close to the MUSE.Who will be our surprise this year?
ET_KenW Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I'm also going to talk to the guy who records my Sunday night jams and see if he's available on Saturday. I can then burn copies of the mayhem on the spot and hand 'em out or mail 'em out to you afterward. Let me know if you need CDs. I've got a big stack if needed.I may still get ear plugs for my daughter. The Sunday Jams are one thing. These events are completely different monsters.
BruceM Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 Dan & Dave...I'm leaving on Tuesday to attend a funeral in IL, so I won't be able to join you for any part of your fear & loathing trip on Friday. Email me a cell phone number if you've got one so I can hook up with you all on Saturday.
gwayne Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 That sounds awesome! I wish I could be there, man, why isnt there something like this in the Southeast? Michael, Phoenix is hosting another Southeast get-together in Hendersonville, NC. Stayed tuned for details. Last year's was a blast.

Good man! no hearing protection? Excellent, you'll be LAP-TOP-MAN!Who is playing Friday? And can you post the website from Saturdays rhythm section? I'm assuming the same great group of guys....
MCChris Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Who is playing Friday? And can you post the website from Saturdays rhythm section? I'm assuming the same great group of guys.... Friday night I have two acoustic acts playing: Seventy Two Others and Stellar Road. Unfortunately the band Quarterturn is apparently no more. Jim the drummer will be there Saturday but the bass player has fallen off the face of the earth. Seems a woman has gotten a hold on him and no one's heard from him in months. Oh well. We have plenty of bass players this year and I'm planning on filling in a lot also.
JohnnyThunders Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 How do P-90's work in the Muse? Any nasty hum? Thinking of bringing some.
Guest hectorp2 Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 P-90s work just fine there. Young Rob "Nuclear" Wessel brought a P-90 equipped Special a few years back that sounded fantastic...as in the best tone of the night...so no worries.
MCChris Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 P-90s work just fine there. Yeah no worries. I used to have a neon sign in the window but that's gone now. Bruce brought his Junior by a couple of months ago and it sounded great.
ET_KenW Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 no hearing protection? With the Walgreen's at Ridge and Torrence, I can make a quick stop for cotton balls. A package for each ear should work just fine. LOL
MCChris Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 With the Walgreen's at Ridge and Torrence, I can make a quick stop for cotton balls. A package for each ear should work just fine. LOL The one at Ridge and Wentworth is closer ...Which reminds me, there's hella construction at the Torrence Avenue exits so folks coming from the west might be better off going through to the Calumet Avenue exit and doubling back to the cafe from there.
