I tried to like mine, but... They look cool but hard to play sitting down... the bottom area is too rounded causing slippage and that tail cut-out is too small to straddle leg... "unless you have skinny thighs"

Did you try sitting it on your left leg (assuming you’re a right-hander)?

I’ve got back and neck issues and switched many years ago to more of a “classical” position when I play seated. I now laugh when I see people complain about V’s/Vectors being horrible to play sitting as I find my Korina vector to be one of the most comfortable guitars to play sitting. I’m yet to play a Scarab but I’m hoping it’s a similar experience.

Yes, I mostly play V's & Standard/Explorer shapes and switch legs often... if I play the Scarab on the right leg, eventually it'll start to slip, so then I'll switch to the left leg and to use the back end as a stop, but the curve pinches my extremely sexy, muscular thighs... 🤣

I've have a Scarab with a rare Sustain bridge and leds.

Ordered Gravelin pickups for it and recently a Standard case with the foam support so it doesn't flip flop around.

Yours sounds amazing! Which Gavelin pickups have you opted for? I’ve got a Mongoose in one of my Californians and absolutely love it.

I’d love to see a pic of your Scarab if you’ve got one handy.

I ordered a 59 for the neck and a Mongoose for the bridge or a V2.

Will try both.

What a bewdy! It’s a bit hard to make out the colour on my phone — is it purple?
I’ve also never seen a Scarab with a Sustainblock. Killer guitar 👌🏻
