NHD Hamer Artist P90 (Sort of)

Hello all, first post here. It´s been a really long time since I´ve been wanting to try and take the plunge at a nice Hamer... I´ve read this forum lots of times, seen posts and everything here and other places. I have and had a lot of guitars fortunately... tried WAY to many to count, modern, vintage you name it. Still, no Hamers. It was like a debt to myself to finally own one and i am so glad i did. I was chasing a studio or an artist, and my first choice was one with humbuckers. Living in Argentina means having to spend extra to ship it here so my choices we´re a bit limited this time. I lurked forums and reverb and this one finally came up. It´s funny because i think i even read about this guitar here... So long story short, here she is.

It´s a 2001 P90 Artist. It has a neck antiquity mini humbucker and a lollar p90. The guitar had a headstock repair and the neck oversprayed so I payed accordingly and got a great amazing value. The guitar is sick and it looks and sounds AMAZING. I can´t believe i got so much for so little. I am sure this won´t be my last. So very happy to say the least.

Mini-HBs in the neck position are a great option. 

And an often overseen alternative for P90-equipped guitars.

Yeah!!! it certainly gives it a nice spin. You know, i am debating myself if going with a mini on the bridge or use 2 p90´s...

Yeah! that was one of the plans... the thing is that the antiquity cover is a bit aged and more greyish white. Kind of parchment. I can´t find Parchment covers were I live. And cream are a bit more yellow...

I hope while you were doing your research you saw the part about Hamer being the Lays potato chips of the guitar world. There's a reason for that. So hide your wallet.

I came close to pulling the trigger on that one many times, but successfully held out for my ultimate goal of a black Newport.

Disagree about the cream P-90 cover. If anything I'd put the black P-90 back in the neck. And if I really wanted to piss people off, I'd swap all the hardware and polepieces for gold.

All that black plus an evil eye. What could be better?

 

 

No I haven’t been binge watching just cuz it’s on Prime. I waited a day between one of them.

Awesome! Welcome! I love a broken-headstock/neck-repaired Hamer; they still play and sound great, and killer value. Enjoy!

Congrats. If you come to think the treble frequencies are to high, you can put some cotton like fabrik in the f-hole. I filled mine up to about a third. It rolls of some of the highs and I like it better this way through my Marshall's.

Indeed!!! i can´t believe i got so much guitar for that money.
