Cboss Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 I would like to get one of these, with the original partridge transformers; broken/project status is fine, working great is fine, if you've got something let me know 1 Quote
velorush Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 Might I recommend also the complimentary product: 2 1 7 Quote
santellavision Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 Or get one of these Red Seven EVO units to tame that beast! I just got one of these and it's the bomb. Sounds spectacular to record amps. Has 2 simultaneous cab IR's, Mics, Gate, Power amp sims and easily connects by Bluetooth. Steve Stevens is using a couple on tour right now. Here's a cool rig rundown out there. 1 1 Quote
Cboss Posted June 20, 2025 Author Posted June 20, 2025 Whenever I find one I will post a tone report, I'm curious because in researching this you get people that say it's incredibly loud and it only sounds good opened up, and you get people that say it sounds great no matter what the master volume is set on. Clean, really Punchy and ballsy, super high clean headroom, that is very attractive to me 2 Quote
stedge Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 Just commenting -mine is not for sale. it is a great amp. Use an attenuator and ear plugs or other protection. If a dr103 you can run it on two tubes (please look up details). Set that way mine puts out 77 watts rms…. So they are quite robust. opened up the amp sounds glorious. It is fine quiet but so are many others. It is the character of the amp when it is running hard that makes it special. To me, at least. It is almost as if there are no limits. i tracked down some old fanes and had petersen build a cab. Good stuff. 4 1 Quote
stedge Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 Yes the hi tones do look great! If i were to buy another hiwatt type would probably try one of those. that said if you dont think 20 watts or whatever can make you go deaf…. Heck, i play so poorly that 10 watts would kill you. 2 Quote

Thank you, I can feel your love for this amp :) and I pick that up in all the research I'm doing with the originals; I would like to eventually have 504 the 201 and the 103, it's fun to hunt for something like this :-) 1 Quote

I didn't fire it up but it is in pristine condition. Good luck! Quote

I had seen that one, it's on reverb also, if it was a thousand bucks that might be tempting, but that is within the range of what I expect to pay when I finally find "the one", so I would rather just keep my powder dry, be patient, and look for the one :-) the hunt is a lot of the fun with this type of quest 1 Quote
