One of these days I would like to find a nice Albert Lee hardtail. There was a trem version at Real Guitars last year that checked all the boxes, except... I will admit, she's a case queen. I play my EBMM Steve Morse a lot more than the Axis or my Stingray RS guitar, though the Stingray does have a nice chunky neck. For me its always more the shape of the neck than the size. Like, I love the current Ibanez Wizard HP profile, even though it's kinda thin, because it has nice shoulders on the profile. 1 Quote

Someone scored a gem a few days ago, and I hope it was an HFCer! Custom Order Studio Custom with Ultimate flame on Korina (!), ebony board, an extra Victory and headstock binding. Sold for $2300 at a shop in NC before I could post a PSA. Who got it? I wanna call dibs! This one showed up at my place this morning. I could not pass up the flame maple on Korina and ebony board. It’s a good one. 5 Quote

Was that a CO, or limited run? Got it off of eBay, if I recall. It was a standard model. I foolishly sold it as it had the modern (thinner) neck. At the time, I was getting hand cramps, so the thin-necked guitars all had to go. Figured out later the cramping was due to the statins that us old farts all seem to end up on. Taking a low dose of B12 once a week fixes that... The guitar was incredible. Very articulate. I put a pair of underwound Lollars into it that were perfect. I'm sure i put the originals back into it before selling. Edit to add - regarding the burst, in the late 90's, that seemed to be standard fade for a 59 burst. Very subtle, which I like a lot. Is it a ‘60 RI ( reflector knobs?). Double dibs. Thanks Topekatj, It's a 2016 Traditional 50's with lightburst finish. I did a few mods, such as an ABR instead of the Nashville bridge it came with, I put the reflector knobs on, and changed the pickguard from the pinkish one that came with it. It is a one piece body with the 9 hole weight relief. It weighs 8lbs9ozs. It's a great guitar. Right now it has a set of Grosh pickups in it. They are his 302 and 327 set of overwound vintage specs. It's a keeper! Edited 1 hour ago by Kerry Marchman Quote
