Hbom Posted October 16 Posted October 16 OCDs are OK. But LovePedal OD11 always wins for me. And this morning LP posted a new Overdrive 11 - THE EXPERIENCE! $50 less and real tube drive. LOVEPEDAL – LovePedal Custom Shop 4 Quote
django49 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I am def a fan of newer gear that uses one or more tubes in a pedal. The Tone King preamp pedals are good examples. May I suggest one other that takes it a few steps beyond a simple OD pedal? This one has gone up in price, what with tariffs and all, but worth considering. Yeah, I reckon I would pass (I did) on the NOS tube upgrade! And used prices can sometimes be very reasonable. As opposed to the one tube OD pedal, it has three preamp tubes for cascading gain options. Use an external 2 button footswitch and you effectively have 3 channels. More or less a D type in a box.....Blackface style clean channel and then "Classic" and "Creamy" channels. Run direct to a power amp. OR integrate with a combo amp to add 3 channels. I use it with a board mounted power amp and minimal effects for a very versatile and portable gig ready package. Good sound examples here: https://www.effectrode.com/products/effects-pedals/blackbird-vacuum-tube-preamp/ 3 Quote
Victor (Fret Friend) Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Or stack an SD-1 and a TS-9 🤷♂️ It’s a fkn joke how people are being conned by boo-teak bull5h1t. The most ‘extravagant’ OD I have is a Tumnus Deluxe which tbh I hardly use over my standard stuff. I get it: I collect drive pedals myself. I got 3 x Stone Deaf distortions and many other drive pedals but I think this pedal hype has gotten out of hand… 5 Quote
django49 Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Way too many drive options. Now I see Lovepedal running a "sale" on a Super 7....."One better than a Super 6". The Super 6 being the Super Reverb on six, sometimes called the "SRV" setting. Get those tubes cooking without earsplitting volume. FWIW, I really like that pedal with a boost in front for added flexibility on the fly. Yeah, I am a sucker....... 3 Quote
Hbom Posted October 17 Posted October 17 But is the Super 7 1.2 really different than the Super 7 Sugar? I know, one is black and the other is white. IME that doesn't always make them sound different. 2 Quote
Jakeboy Posted Sunday at 07:05 PM Posted Sunday at 07:05 PM @Hbom, have you tried the Super 7 Sugar? Quote

hamerhead Posted Monday at 09:21 PM Posted Monday at 09:21 PM It's a cool pedal. I used a stacked pair (V1.4 and V1.7 I believe?) for quite a while, so I get it. But $300 to put two $100 pedals in a single box seems a bit much. I also have a V2.0 that hums badly when used with a Pedal Power Plus, and Mr. Fuller got a little snippy when I let him know. The Pedal Power remains on my board. The OCDs do not. 1 1 Quote

The standard OCD is $179 each. I have the GE OCD and it’s fantastic. 1 Quote
