No need for nerves-the jams are fun and low pressure and the best way to build confidence to play in front of people.

So who's bringing what? Sounds like Daves got things covered gear wise or is this also a shine n' show of sorts?

Posted

It'll be a little bit of everything of the above. People are bringing their personal fiddles and there will be a few on hand as well. Lotsa Hamers, but a few other things here and there from other makers.

If there's something you'd like to bring (or try?) pop a post here - somebody should be able to pull it off!

Trying to firm up hotel/shuttle rates. Here's what I got, attendance-wise. Please fill in the blanks (when you're arriving, if someone will be with you, etc.)...

Stike & Ryan Gadow

Poe & Denise

Kiz

Johnny Thunders

George & Carmie

BruceM & Bro Gary

Serial

Jaye Isham

Ok - my travel plans have been finalized, and although I had made reservations at that Ramada in Rockville (I even spoke to Claudia Lopez - lol ), I only had that as a backup.

My lovely bride, Donna, expressed an interest in attending the festivities, and made arrangements for Poe, Denise, and us at The Inn at Peralynna Manor.

I sure hope this will be up to my standards. I can be very demanding.

Here's an example of their suites. The one we're staying in, however, is brand new and, according to the innkeeper, has yet to be photographed and is much more luxurious. This is a good thing becuase I deserve to be pampered, and the room below simply will not do. (We're actually staying three nights).

This is a photo of Poe & Denise's bedroom (I'm not even kidding).

I guess I'll cancell that room at the Ramada tomorrow morning...

Oh that's cool and all, but you know that the charges for trashing your room are going to be 10 X the going Ramada rate! :P

Make sure you bring nylon strings and dampers, ladies!!

(ha ha!)

Actually, if that's the place in Columbia, it's supposed to be very nice.

Cool as hell. I would like to stay at the Ramada, where all the action is...but alas, D wears the pants in my family. I guess I will have to put up with a miserable weekend *sigh*. Hanging out with the boys in the day, and being forced into sexual slavery in the evening. *sigh* I lead a very tough life. :P

PS I have no idea how I will pay for this.

That's the one!

I need a head count please of folks who need transportation from the Ramada Rockville to Olney & back.

We're doing this so that those who want to party hearty will avoid any trouble.

Posted

Count me in to party and shuttle back, how far is it?

Posted

Yes! Me & the Mr. will take advantage of that, thanks Dave.

Donna, Denise, Poe & I should be all set.

Poe has been teaching Denise how to drive (yes - a terrifying thought), so the 3 of us are going to get trashed and let Denise chauffer us around!

Thank you Mr. Kizanski. Can I interest you in a lead to go with your "Wild Flower"? Or perhaps an extended outro jam? ;)

I'll probablly need in on that shuttle, Ryan's gonna ditch I think since it's his wedding anniversary. Gotta stay outta the doghouse.

Posted

Amen to that - Ryan will be missed.

Still waiting to hear back from some of the local HFC contingency. Come on out and bring a friend or two!

Posted

Guys, what time will the DWTM gig start on Saturday? I've got some friends in Herndon who would love to come and I want to make they know the when & where details.

Bruce, are you going to help me pick out an outfit for the jam? ;)

Posted

Carmie:

We're starting between 9-9:30 pm, so PLENTY of time for a quick trip from Herndon!

As a reminder, the Olney Tavern is located at 18101 Town Center Drive in Olney, MD. Just a few short steps (or a long stumble) from ROCKETERIA.
