BruceM Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Bruce, are you going to help me pick out an outfit for the jam? Just pull that tight black mini-dress out of the closet, and put on your fishnets and boots. That's what I'll be wearing.
Guitarseh Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I'll be there at the shop/dinner/show, but won't be staying the night at the Ramada or using the shuttle. Gotta get home to the kid at some point, or he might drink all the beer in the fridge If we can find a babysitter, my better (and more entertaining) half will be along for the show. Mark B
cmatthes Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 Mark: It'll be great to see ya! I hear you about the kids though...yikes, they can drink a lot if you don't watch 'em!

Yeah, and he's not even 3 yet Mark B PS If what they say about your final adult height being twice your height at age two, he's gonna be 6' 6". I better be nice to him!

gfc55 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 So, to be sure:... ROLLING STONES-Live With Me ***Carmie, Guitar ***BruceM, Vox ***CC, Guitar ***DP, Bass ***DA, Drums ... WHAT!?!?!?!?I don't think I can work under these conditions!  I'll be singing Live With Me, BTW, and will need a kickass lead player...I'm assuming that's you, right Dave? Carmie is ALWAYS part of my backup band, and along with George, we're a smooth mean rhythm machine.  If the stage is small, Carmie and I will be delighted to do the cheek-to-cheek thing. Can't wait to see y'all! Dave, I'm still willing to play bass on "Live With Me" as BruceM requested...

If not, no sweat and I will of course defer to you. Let me know...

Resist. Trust me. It might end up sounding like Surrender at the last Open House.
md2020 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Any visiting dignitaries need a lift to the Y&T show Friday night? I could get 3 or 4 of y'all at the hotel, maybe around 8. Y&T probably won't go on until (well) after 10. Jaxx is about a 45 minute ride from Rockville. Doubt it'll sell out, but just in case, tickets are here (probably through Thursday). For whatever reason, Y&T didn't really show up on my radar back in the day, so I'm long overdue to see them. Thursday night, anybody going to the Smithereens in Baltimore?

If not, no sweat and I will of course defer to you. Let me know... That is a fun song to play, isn't it? Bruce played the song for me before the last Midwest Jam at the Muse, and I had a great time playing it. I'm not a guitar player, so I'll stick to the bass if that works out OK for you. I'm just looking forward to seeing our East Coast HFC brothers again.
kizanski Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Resist. Trust me. It might end up sounding like Surrender at the last Open House. Not when one knows the song..."Peace Dog" shot down. Ok...In that case, how's about you, Poe and & do an acoustic-only "Memphis Hip Shake"?Too weird?
elduave Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Not when one knows the song... Excactly. I have no idea if our drummer and/or CM know it, plus, it's out of my vocal range. Not trying to shoot you down, just being realistic. If you can put together a group that can do it, the stage is yours and I'll be happy to play guitar or bass on it if you need. Now Memphis Hip Shake, I don't know that one but you and Poe are welcome to do it. We will have acoustics there...
elduave Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I'll stick to the bass if that works out OK for you. You got it.

We will have acoustics there... No problem - I was only kidding, anyway.I know the song, but I can see how it could become a train wreck real fast, with all the stops and starts, pauses, etc. No way 4 or 5 people that have never played together get that soung out in an acceptable manner.No...there won't be any Kizanski Unplugged episodes getting taped anytime soon (or ever). You should live so long as to see me up on stage sitting on a stool with an acoustic.

kizanski Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I was going to ask you to join me on an acoustic Carpenters "We've Only Just Begun". I'm going to have to decline, but I'll be happy to stick my finger down my throat while you play it as an homage to Karen.
