srvwannab Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 This is the guitar that got me started on the pointy ones... as I wait for the Zandard to hit town! This from a trusted seller... "This a '78 Explorer that was originally owned by JT Ribiloff who worked in the Gibson R&D department for years. He designed the Les Paul Classic and a ton of other stuff. The guitar was obtained by a friend of mine who works at Fender from Ribiloff who then had the guitar refinished by Jason Davis, a custom pickguard made for it by J. Black, and a refret done through the combined efforts of both J. Black, and Dave Maddux, all of the Fender Custom Shop." So, I call it my Fender Custom Shop Gibson Explorer!
cloakerz Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 the headstock on my jackson SL1 is pointy, does that count?
Steve Haynie Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 So, Fender corrected the finish and fretwork problems of a Gibson guitar, right?
Scottcrud Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 So, Fender corrected the finish and fretwork problems of a Gibson guitar, right? yea, I was gonna point that out too...kinda of ironic isn't it? Oh, and I've got a custom made Mockingbird for the pointy catagory.

srvwannab Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 My 2006 Custom Shop Jackson Soloist. Picture sucks, it looks alot better in person. Jack.Jack, those inlays look great! How does it play?
black magic Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Thanks bro!! She plays really smoothly. The inlays are Iron Cross in MOP. The neck is a thin/medium about like a set neck Chap. I got it in 25.5 scale, but if I had to do it over again I would get her in 24.75 scale. I may have to drop down to 8-38`s or something or 8-40/42`s. I like the first 3 high strings really slinky. Jack.
black magic Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Another Jackson. Those headstocks really hurt Nice bro!! Is that a Japanese Pro DR3 or similar? Jack.
