RacerX Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Hi Gang, Interesting story on this ChapMax. It spent some time as part of a sculpture called "Rock Garden" which was in Chicago's "China Club". I bought the Bass as a project missing the original pickups and the body was half way through a refinish for some unknown reason. It is now restored and beautiful. Brand new full EMG setup (P/HB pups and BTS system electronics), fresh nitro lacquer on the body, original finish on neck. 2 pc SOLID QUILT maple body and nice flame on the neck too! Ebony/Boomers, and the whole package weighs 8lb, 5oz. Testing the waters for serious offers on this one so Email or PM me if you are interested. Not really looking for trades but might consider early and or rare Hamers. I've done happy deals with lots-o-HFC'rs and am near Chicago if you would like to see it in person. Thanks! Mark.
cmatthes Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Wow! Those are GREAT basses. My main gigger for years was my '89 Max, very battered and bruised, but still a fantastic instrument. My quilty "Karmabass" could sure use a pal, but I'm pretty stable in the bass dept. right now. Damn, that's a nice one!!
killerteddybear Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 << instant hardon >>$350.00?Honestly, where would you start? That's so beautiful it's almost wrong.
MCChris Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 It spent some time as part of a sculpture called "Rock Garden" which was in Chicago's "China Club". I think I've stumbled into or passed out next to that guitar, then! Any idea what happened to the rest of the guitars in that garden? Lots of Hamers in there. Might have been ALL Hamers.Regular or reverse head on that?
RacerX Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 Regular headstock, gold Schallers. I have no Idea where the rest of the guitars went....wish I did! Mark.
bbobb24 Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I would absolutely LOVE to own that bass, however I'm sure that I couldn't afford it.....
holLoWskull Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 Damn you've got some hot looking Hamers. I don't know what's sexier, the quilt maple Chap bass or the teal Vintage S next to it!

marcnorth Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 How much do you want to get for it?????
MCChris Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 How much do you want to get for it?????I know you're wanting offers, but if you wouldn't mind, I'm interested in hearing a ballpark figure too. I'd hate to lowball you, or worse, pay too much LOL!I'm local and can pick up!
RacerX Posted September 28, 2006 Author Posted September 28, 2006 I was thinking 1500ish? MCChris, I would never let you pay too much Thanks, Mark.
Caddie Posted September 28, 2006 Posted September 28, 2006 FWIW, RacerX is a terrific guy to deal with. The guitar will arrive better than described and with a perfect setup (Mark is a highly skilled guitar tech.) $1500 for a solid, quilted maple body bass?. And furthermore it looks flawless ?? It's a bargain at $1500. Unfortunately for me and Mark, I can't play bass worth a damn.Sorry RacerX.no talent noonan
Ucode Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Just curious about the bridge? Is that a Badass Bridge on the Chap?
