Iced Dragon Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Hi, I was wondering if anybody could provide me some information (and pics!) of Michael Fath's Hamer doubleneck. It was red with a black rose in the top left 'corner'.Upper part was 12-string, below 6 string with floyd. If I remember correctly it was made of some kind of pine (spruce? is this possible?)Thanks!Bjorn(especially looking for pics!)
tobereeno Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 as far as I know, the guitar is currently in New Jersey, and was actually up for sale a few months back on eBay. The six string neck is scalloped, dunno about the body material, had always assumed it was mahogany.
Iced Dragon Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 for sale on Ebay?? Can't believe this! But this is the guitar alright (all-right?sp.?) (If not I don't think there are many others around?) Thanks!
Steve Haynie Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Our buddy, Joe, owns that guitar. If you are seriously interested I can send you his e-mail address.

cmatthes Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Not sure about the 12 string neck on that one - it may have been fixed, but I've gotten a couple of first-person reviews that found it almost unplayable.
serial Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 The 12 string issues might have been worked out. When I played it, it was horrible, but IIRC, someone down the line apparently spent some time with it to get it going.Start yer bidding at...a half of a $20?
kizanski Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Start yer bidding at...a half of a $20? Coming soon:Fist fight #102...
MCChris Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I Coming soon:Fist fight #102... I heard one of the whores Tone Junkee dates has dibs on it ...
BCR Greg Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Michael is an old buddy of mine. He had me sell the thing because it weighed ONE MILLION POUNDS and sounded like crap. The 12 neck was bugaboo as well.Avoid it.
Steve Haynie Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 If there is a problem with the neck, did it start while Michael Fath owned it? Why would Hamer not take care of a guitar that went to an endorser?
edgar_allan_poe Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 If there is a problem with the neck, did it start while Michael Fath owned it? Why would Hamer not take care of a guitar that went to an endorser?(Poe runs to the closet and pulls out his ACME flame suit)
BCR Greg Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 If there is a problem with the neck, did it start while Michael Fath owned it? Why would Hamer not take care of a guitar that went to an endorser? Does it really matter?

MCChris Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Hey, Chris, hand me that fly swatter. Don't have one handy. A have a few paddles and probably a ball gag laying around here somewhere though ...
md2020 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Any DC-area HFC'ers remember Orphan? They were my first intro to M.F. -- I caught a gig at a jam-packed mini-mall restaurant somewhere in deepest darkest Tysons Corner. Fun stuff.
BCR Greg Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Ball gag? Not applicable.OH, it's a gag with a ball.Nevermind. Probably not strong enough.
Iced Dragon Posted April 20, 2005 Author Posted April 20, 2005 You've started something Iced.Great fun !!!! oh well nice guitar though
BCR Greg Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 It's cool, alright. Michael only used it in ads, he told me that he really didn't like it since it weighed so much. All of this was disclosed when selling it, and that is that.Michael does a cool jazz thing now, his shred background makes for some cool stuff.
