So...SOLD to Kilroy pending payment. What did he offer in trade? $3.50?No Mr. Wiseguy.... I had the case he wanted. Turns out that his case is different from the other checkerboard cases I have that came through Greg's shop. Should be nicer.
serial Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 The one he has is like the first ones that Greg had with the leather handles and a bit more "plush". Of course, those were also the higher-end TKL Custom (I think they're called something Creek cases) and listed a lot higher than the other standard TKLs that Greg got later (with the standard plastic handles). This one is one of the Deee-luxe ones.
tomteriffic Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I've got one of the Deee-luxe ones and a couple of the standard-issue ones. They're all pretty doggone nice, regardless.

This one is one of the Deee-luxe ones.I like my standard ones just fine, thank you very much. But now, see here.... The Gibsons have a nice cushy leather handle that I like, are quite plush on the inside and even feature that wonderful silk blanket inside. Is the TKL Custom nicer than that?
cmatthes Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 This version of the TKL is - it's the Cedar Creek line of cases, which are custom runs. Mine has that nice handle, upgraded lining and is nicer than most standard cases.I honestly don't really care about that sort of thing, but it is a cool case!
BCR Greg Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 This case is one of the very first ones that I had made, Cedar Creek Prestige or some silly name for a very heavy duty handmade case. I actually have only two of the 12 that I had made, and I would have jumped on that one had I not been surrounded by guitars and porn stars all weekend.
Mike_C Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Great cases I wish I had bought more than the one I have.
serial Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I'm glad I got one- and it doesn't have that silly blanket like the Gibbys-I HATE those things! I DO like the leather handles though.
Scooter Posted January 23, 2007 Author Posted January 23, 2007 Get this:I was packing up the checker case tonight to ship out to Kilroy and noticed the piping inside the case (under the lid) is SNAKESKIN! Never saw that before! Totally freakin' cool! Too bad you don't see it when the case is closed.
