Zoner Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Dang it, when a guy gets a hankerin' for a Floyd equipped shredder, what does he do these days? I'm "gearing up" for a new cover band project and would like a Hamer to do my lame imitation shredding on, but am not finding much available at the moment. Even though I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the last couple deals done with fellow HFC'ers (Brooks, I will get the Univalve back this week and hold NO ill feelings toward you, man - can't quite say the same for the other deal), I'm willing to give it another go if someone has something that fits the description. Please don't make me buy a Jackson! Z
ZR Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 There have been a lot of Chaps on Ebay lately. A set-neck Custom just went for around $550.
Zoner Posted May 25, 2007 Author Posted May 25, 2007 Call me odd but I actually prefer the bolt-on version. Lots of set-necks with fancy tops, just not my cup o' tea. Z
serial Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I could look through my Floyd-ey stuff. Not sure what I still have that I don't want to hang on to, but I don't touch Floyds anymore. If you can hack a Kahler on a wild assed cool custom factory finish, I might have something you'd dig. I know that my FB and Scotti Hill Sunburst and SS2 w/LEDs aren't going anywhere, even though I don't play em b/c of the Floyds. I'm out of bolt-ons though.
Taylor Player Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 PM me if this 9.9/10 Diablo scratches your wiggle stick urge...
MCChris Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Well, there's always this: -Austin Man, I am a SUCKER for natural guitars ....
seeker Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I have noticed that too. Other than tricked-out Cali's, or now Chaps, the number of 80s Hamers for sale on ebay has gone down substantially since 2-3 years ago. Either people aren't selling them because they can't get what their (imho) real worth is, or owners don't need the cash now.
Disturber Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 . Either people aren't selling them because they can't get what their (imho) real worth is, or owners don't need the cash now. Or lo and behold, people are actually playing the heck out of them and refuse to sell 'cause they enjoy a great guitar.
kurtsstuff Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 I'm playin the shit outta mine (Cali's)...and yes....nobody seems to want to pay for what they are worth so....keepin em all!!
Eric Weston Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 Well, there's always this: -Austin Man, I am a SUCKER for natural guitars .... +1000 I've been trying to ignore that one.......but it would look so good next to my natural Centaura
peedenmark7 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I have noticed that too. Either people aren't selling them because they can't get what their (imho) real worth is, or owners don't need the cash now.ditto....life must be good.... cause there isnt much out there....however, I havent seen a flametop chap custom go for under $1300 in quite a while now...the one that was on ebay this past week looked pretty nice...I regret letting paults' flametop go.....wont make that mistake again....
Zoner Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 Hmmmmmmm, Chappy? Kahler? Wild graphics? Yes; if I must; most assuredly hell yes! Z
serial Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Hmmmmmmm, Chappy? Kahler? Wild graphics? Yes; if I must; most assuredly hell yes! Z This is what I was thinking about. Need to be a serious trade or $$ offer though. I'm out of Floydey stuff other than the FB, the SS2 w/LEDs and the Scotti Hill Sunburst.
Zoner Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Well, that is certainly a very cool guitar and one I would consider strongly if I had any sort of clue what kind of $$$ we are talking. $350 or how many times that amount is needed to get in the ballpark? X2? X3-4? I am truly clueless so take it easy on me here! By the way, thanks to those who dug something out of the closet or from under the bed to give me some options - I truly appreciate it and am considering all the offers. Z
