edgar_allan_poe Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Dave, give us a tone report please!!! I would really appreciate a report on how you would use this in your band. You play a lot of the same stuff as us, and I am curious how this would fit into my band. Awesome guitar.
atquinn Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 thats a beautiful flame but that color drives me insane.... blech This one's for you; another great amberburst guitar from Dave's store Mmmmm....Amberburst... And the pattern on that top is sweet!!! Did you have anything to do with spec'ing the top Dave or did you just get lucky? -Austin
elduave Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Dave, give us a tone report please!!! I would really appreciate a report on how you would use this in your band. You play a lot of the same stuff as us, and I am curious how this would fit into my band. Awesome guitar. I'm not usually a good "tone report" dude but I posted this on The Gear Page last night. Hope it helps... "I spent some time with it on my Marshall TSL601. On the clean channel, all 4 positions are stellar. As with anything, the more gain you play with the less defined each position is but overall the lead sounds are fantastic even on the red channel with gain dimed. It's very "playable" and I really dig the feel of the V neck. My favorite switch position is all the way back (bridge). The body is slightly "longer" than my G&L ASAT. Great, great guitar." Did you have anything to do with spec'ing the top Dave or did you just get lucky? Just lucky brah.
HAMERMAN Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Hadn't noticed until your pictures that the Talladega has a 5-way without a pickguard (on a carved top no less). Does that mean Hamer is breaking one of their long standing self imposed rules? With any luck "We will not make superstrats" will be next. :-)

belgian Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Beautiful top on that one, I give it 24 hours in stock.

Michael_ Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 I'm a big fan of the single victory with the dots. And the color
cmatthes Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I got to spend a little time with the Talladega today at Rocketera (it has already been sold, I believe!).In a word?Killer. The neck carve was a neat change from standard Hamer fare (slightly V-shaped), but to me, the most impressive thing was the flexibility given between the pickups (mostly in the 1 and 2 positions) and the vol/tone controls. Incredibly responsive. My favorite was the #1 position (bridge) vol. full up and tone rolled down 2-3 pts...There are way too many combinations to fiddle with in the short time I was messing around with it, but suffice it to say that this is a guitar you need to check out if one comes up near you.
belgian Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Dave, I was wondering why it stayed a week unsold... The Talledega is a guitar that didn't appealed on paper to me, even visually it didn't do nothing to me. But I've tested it out and now it's the Hamer that gets the most playing time. This is the best sounding P90 style guitar I ever heard and played. I concider myself very happy to have one (and the only one in Europe !)
cmatthes Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 I concider myself very happy to have one (and the only one in Europe !) That is soon to change! You're getting company...

elduave Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 I believe the new owner hangs here, he can chime in if it is his wont.
