holLoWskull Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Geez, I saw the post an hour after it was put up here on the HFC and toyed with buying but, but decided not to because I thought that was a little pricey for the guitar (that or I figured someone would offer the guy $500 more than the asking price anyway) Yeah, I know Hamer won't make them anymore for any amount of money, and new the finish was something like a $1200 (or more) upcharge, etc. etc....I guess I'm still stuck in the mindset of even just a couple years ago when a used holoskull cali elite would only fetch in the $1500-ish range...times are a changin' for sure. Congrats on the guitar, it looks sweet. BTW, don't know if you're kidding around or serious about a hologram sticker, but I'm pretty sure (looking at mine) that the holograms are kind of sandwiched between two layers of glass (or maybe it's plastic). Don't know if it was made for Hamer this way or if it was something they did?

The Scarys are finished Buying guitars for awhile. and i did see HollowSkull but i'm not a big fan of the finish. so you don't have to worry about me Snatching any more for awhile. But you also won't have me to bring the Prices up anymore either. (Sorry Sellers)

This let them blend in the finish so you can't really see the outlines of the discs (at least you couldn't when they were new). Each "eye" on my guitar is staring out of a crater, and Jim O'Connor signed on the edge of one of the craters (it's the Hamer version of Where's Waldo? trying to find where the sig is hidden on some of his paint jobs lol). The best Cali I've ever owned or played.

Any pix of your MOTM finished Cali that you'd care to share? Gotta get people more interested in that whole 'evil eye' hologram instead of the skulls so the used holoskull cali/chap elite prices get more affordable again
