DITTO!!! Sounds cool.

Sorry guys,

I'm pretty new to the HFC and don't know the ad tools. How do I post pics to the ad? I followed the tools and browsed to the pic files but nothing would attach.

Just send me an email and I'll send as many pics as you want. Thanks. Craig

Thanks, Austin! You saved me the linkage.

Don't forget to add that Crown inlays are also no longer available on (new) Hamer guitars...

Very nice. So tastefully done. Like they were spec'ed by a guy who makes awesome hot sauce.... ;-)

Did I see this one advertised on the Gear Page recently?

Is it a true solid body or is it chambered with no f hole?

Isn't first fret inlay standard on the Ultimate?

How can it be both? ;-)

Hey guys,

I can't believe the HFC and the support you all show for these great guitars and each other.

Thank you very much for posting the pics of my ArtUlt from the ebay ad. That was very cool. Interesting the comments about the 1st fret inlay. On the origional Custom Order Certificate it reads:

Model: Artist Ultimate

Color: Brown Sugar

Custom Items: AAAA Quilt Maple Top

Without "F" Hole

Crown Inlay on 1st Fret

As far as solid or chambered, the origional (actually 2nd) owner stated that this guitar and its mate were a slight mistake in that they were solid bodies that somehow came through the Artist Ultimate line. I have no idea whether there are chambers or not. This would be an interesting research project to see what the actual records at Hamer show. The owner of the other ArtUlt twin to this guitar says it's true. It's a solid body.

Whatever, the guitar is absolute magic. I have tried to sell this guitar 2 times before for different reasons and both times I have stopped the auction and wondered what I was thinking... sell this guitar???

You need to put that an x-ray! ;-0)

David, good idea.

I'll take it to the office tomorrow and shoot a few radiographs of the body and see what I see. We';ll find those chambers yet!!! :-)

There is no Artist Ultimate line! To date they have probably made less than 100 of them. Mine is #48 and it is an 2003 model. Retail price in 03 was $4500, I believe and now $8500. They still do not command an appropriate price used IMO.

Just tap a little around the body and you'll be able to tell if it's chambered or not. Tap your finger around the lower half of the body to get an idea of what solid wood feels like and then start tapping around the upper half. Kind of like finding a stud in your walls, listen for the slightly hollow noise compared to the dull thud. It works with my Talladega.

Gosh! I guess I can still get VERY excited about beauty, even if those aren't my kind of guitar.

Thanks Arnie. What do you mean,"no Artist Ultimate Line"?

I agree with you about the price. You see Gibson Historics fetching big money esp from 03 with brazilian boards(like the R9 I sold to get this Ultimate) and the ArtUlt is SO much better!

Nice guitar you have there. What is it? Looks like an ArtUlt but different inlays.

Travis, I did the tap test and to my ears it is exactly the same all over. I've put plenty of wall studs in so I know the sound. BTW, the tapping sure produces a musical tone, like tap tuning an archtop. They really got it right with the ArtUlt! I think the story on this guitar is true. It's a SOLID BODY!

Hey Arnie, I noticed I didn't put down what # my Ultimate is. On the back of the headstock, under the serial # is "045" Guess mine is #45, huh?

How do you put a picture into the text field?

Posted

These are truly amazing guitars. I think what Arnie is saying is that these aren't regular "production" items and are built essentially pre-sold or "to order". The inlay work alone that goes into these guitars is just stunning and incredibly labor-intensive.

If yours is #045, it's probably one of the last ones with crown inlays. Hamer went to Victory inlays in '03 or so and finally phased out crown inlays this year completely.

Beautiful axe-best of luck with the sale (if you decide to go through with it!).

Craig,

Serial hit it on the head. There is no "line" at Hamer devoted to the production of any single model. There are individuals who do perform the same function on most guitars. At the time my Ultimate was made there was only one luthier who did the MOP inlays. I paid extra for the Victories on my guitar because I like them, and they are uniquely Hamer. Subsequently they became stock.

To insert a picture in the body of your post upload one to an image hosting site, I use photbucket. Copy the line IMG code and paste it where you want it. If you want the picture to appear in your signature, go to 'My Controls" edit signature and insert the same IMG code in that box then presto!
