Dammit, I Want An FB/TB Bass!

Seeing the Firebird thread and knowing that an FB went from my backyard to Europe, I'm getting big time remorse GAS for an FB/TB! So, anyone have one they're not playing that they won't miss? If I'm lucky enough to get one I'm gonna gig and record with it so it'll get put to work! Hamer preferred but will consider most any Thunderbird style by any maker. 4's or 8's welcome!

Anything hanging in the store is game as well...

Andre did something really crazy... he ASKED! I've moved a number of guitars or basses just b/c someone asked and timing was right (including two killer FB basses). I'm always amazed that more people don't ask if they have their eye on something, so Dave's got the right idea, only Im out of FB basses now! Still got ins FB, but it's a 6string.

I'm reminded of the chatter on the Farley. I couldn't of touched it $-wise, and I don't think you're into any of my trade bait, so that point is moot, but yeah, I'm puttin' it out there strong now.

Thanks dude. I'm sure I e-mailed Peter on the Zulu but perhaps didn't get a reply? Peter knows where I'm at though anyway. Only able to horse trade or have incoming FB/TB + $. No $ to throw at the deal on my end, but some good trade bait I'd say? :)

It may not have been when you sold to Andre, I don't think I was playing bass actively then and my jones wasn't as intense. But now you know! :)

That's an incredible guitar.

Whats the details on that Standard????

New, Honey, wide random flame, Crowns, chambered. I'll e-mail you through the board.

That Standard is a killer one. It is the one made either right before or right after my Emeraldburst one, and the tops are basically mirror-images of each other.

Mike would probably let you choose pups and bridge if you go the custom route.

I'd pick that big fat motherfucker right by the neck, maybe one more. Allan Woody style.

Are those short scale? Something looks goofy on them...

Nah, the 5 string on the left is 24 frets and may be a 35 inch scale. Both FB's are placed higher and a little farther back. The skinny/narrow necks thru me for a loop at first, being 1.5 nut width. Jazz neck on an FB style bass?!? Crazy good. Lull makes some great basses. I wouldn't know how to choose between a Lull or Sadowsky.

Dave, Mike has taken the right trades in the past. You being a brick -n- mortar couldn't hurt.

Details.

edit: IIRC, Mike only does bolt on neck basses. But he's one of the best at it.

Thanks-I was looking at those pics over the weekend on my phone-EVERYTHING looks smaller on that thing. I think the Headstocks help make it look shorter too.

Those Hstocks do look a little small.

Wondering if I can even let it go now! :)

FWIW, repaired headstock, Hamer Triple Coil (original Ibanez Triple Coil included), pre-serial # ('75?), Ibanez deluxe case. Juicy.

Love that Iceman-those are great guitars.

Dave-did the Hamer pickups drop right in or did you need a new mounting ring? Also-how do the Hamer pickups sound in there? The one thing I can't deal with is the feedback squealing at high volumes-the original pickups are a bit microphonic.
