veatch Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Heh... I'd sit on 'em for however long it took for him to fulfill the original order...
kevinT Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 wow...what a scoundral. Seems like a lot of these types are popping up these days in the musical products industry. Being a business person myself, there is really no reason for this type of crap. If you can't deliver your projuct, give folks there money back it's as simple as that. Yes I know there are some natural born crooks out there that don't think that way. ...hopefully they'll get weeded out eventually. You're always guaranteed 100% satisfaction here.
velcro fly Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I bought a couple of sets of these off a guy on TGP...unfortunately the strings deliver as advertised and are freaking awesome....the unfortunate part is not knowing if I could actually ever get more strings from dude direct
Siaip Ciuvas Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hey, guess what?! Yeah, nothing. Still no strings. Isn't it time for "I will call me credit card company" maneuver? Dainius
Feynman Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Isn't it time for "I will call me credit card company" maneuver? Heck no! I will be waiting patiently for them to arrive.
Mr Fuzzy Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Luckily I have avoided SOS hype and problems due to heads up threads like these.
seeker Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Hey, guess what?! Yeah, nothing. Still no strings. Isn't it time for "I will call me credit card company" maneuver? Dainius You ever get a chance to try those SIT strings?
earachemyeye Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I just put a set of SIT strings on my Phantom Custom. +1Joe
backinit Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 I picked up a couple sets of SIT .010 - .046 to try on my gibby scale. $3.50 a set on clearance from a mom and pop store.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 You ever get a chance to try those SIT strings? not yet, the only SIT dealer is 100 km away from me, and I plan to be there coming week, so that will happen soon!
Frank Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Anyone here use www.webstrings.com? I've bought several sets from them at under $3.00 per set and I have been satisfied with them.

shredmeister Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Can't comment on the Snake Oils cause I have never used 'em.However, I have tried lots of other brands and the best I have found are D'Aquistos.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 I guess no strings arrived so far?I have tested SIT Powerwounds. They sound differently than SOBs (less midrange "bark"), but they stay in tune WAY better. Its been a week since I tuned guitar last time and just did slight adjustment on 1st and 2nd after extreme bending session. I have ordered a box of 10-46.Bye bye Snake Oils...

Nothing bad so say about SITs. Minimal stretching. I'll get a couple of sets from the store in my territory when I'm around.
Feynman Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Tuesday is the five month anniversary of my order. Would it be rude of me to ask for a status this early?
seeker Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Tuesday is the five month anniversary of my order. Would it be rude of me to ask for a status this early?Good Q. If he were feeling Dumble-ish, you'd go to the end of the line.

Would it be rude of me to ask for a status this early?I think you're being very impatient. How dare you question? This guy is operative like the Department of Motor Vehicles, but in this case there are other choices.I can't beleive he is still around.
Siaip Ciuvas Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 patience is for pussies. DO IT, MITCH!

Would it be rude of me to ask for a status this early? How dare you be so utterly rude! He's obviously an artiste.
velorush Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 How dare you be so utterly rude! He's obviously an artiste. He had a pretty interesting column in Premier Guitar this month about American-sounding speakers... probably took a good bit of time to get together and was great advertisement for Tungsten Amplification's T12Q Webers. He closes with a "See you next month!" so I don't think I'd go waiting by the mail box.
earachemyeye Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I read that article too and thought of this post right away. How bizzare.Joe
Siaip Ciuvas Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Maybe Dean has nothing to do with daily production routines anymore, and the guys in charge bullshit him that "things are allright"? Maybe someone can email him via magazine so that the guy comes aware?
BadgerDave Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 He is aware. The way to get strings from SOS is to pay via paypal. Then wait until the 45 day time limit for disputes is nearly over and file a dispute. I did this and Dean called me personally asking me to withdraw the dispute. He was all, "Hey dude, that was uncool". I told him I would withdraw the dispute the moment my strings arrived. I got them the next day by express mail. I think I can live with being uncool.
