Hamer of the gods Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Im guessing $20,000 per...http://www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Blog...Pearly-Gat.aspx
Hamerica Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Nice. I would be surprised at Gibson if it was at least $20KIf it had Pearlys Tone, it would be worth it. Hamerica
bubs_42 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Yes...Its a Gibby. But, I hate these artist guitars. IT NOT PEARLY GATES, ITS NOT THE SAME WOOD, ITS NOT WORTH 20K. It may come out right if they farm it out to JB and he builds them all.
velorush Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 To truly be Pearly, it has to have spent the time under a Texas farmer's bed prior to purchase and be bought with cash proceeds from the sale of a Packard (named Pearly Gates). It also has to cost $300 and come with Rev. BG's hands.
cmatthes Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Ah, but if your subscription to "Guitar Afficianado" just kicked in, none of that matters. Your bigger concern is whether to use fluted Brazilian or Indian Rosewood for the wall-hanging, humidity and temperature controlled, crystal-encased museum display case in your trophy room. It's really just about the look, you know...
Citrus Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Wow, the picture of the cut out for the neck is an eye opener compared to the size of a HamerNever really saw the width of the cut for a Gibby. Interesting to me because of all the people who say a Hamer doesn't have the heft or bottom end of a Les Paul due to the double cut ( missing wood ). I wonder how much of that bottom end is brought back ( or taken away in Gibbys case) by the size of the neck joint of a Hamer

Steve Haynie Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 For the price someone just needs to look into buying a vintage guitar. A repaired or butchered 50's Les Paul should be in the price range of someone who can afford a $20,000.00 artist guitar.
